OMG! No chance of this happening. FFONER pretty much sums it up regarding the venom that still apparently exits in all three camps. I have to think the only "healthy" one of the bunch is Michael Anthony, if for no other reason than he won't slam anyone on either side for fear of losing his job or alienating anybody. Does he even have a damn job w/VH anymore? Is VH even a fighting unit anymore? I love Mikey, fine bass chops and wonderful backing vocals, but VH is just not doing anything these days with no apparent signs of getting back together anytime soon.

The logistics of having Sammy & Dave as "co lead singers" AND having Ed, Alex, & Michael together would be impossible. Each guy would be on their own damn bus when they weren't flying to the gigs, except Ed & Al travel together for the most part. Nobody would agree on the set list, lighting cues, show length, the damn catering menu!! Well, the classic lineup would at least agree to no brown M&M's in the catering dept!!

Yeah,
I have no idea if it would work or not...I just know that it would be bad ass....

And I think everybody here would love to see it!!! Or at least see Van Halen play again wether it be Sammy or Dave. And hopefully see a more "grounded" EVH!!

Am I forgetting anyone or anything?

Actually yes the one thing you are forgetting....
All this adversity would make for some KILLER lyrics and mean guitar riffs to write about. The more unhappy the band is, the more creative they can be.

ha ha ha... No I am just kidding... You are right, it would be a disaster for sure.

Bring back Sam, Ed cut your hair and grow a goatie and dress like a normal human being, quit drinking and break out the amber quilt top 5150 EBMM guitar and go back in the studio and write "Balance 2" .....
Sounds good to me.....
Bring back 1995....

Dave is scary... Eddie is scary....Sammy is, well 60 yrs old and senile..... Mike??? Alex????

I hate to be one of the naysayers, but it would have been cooler to see them reunite in '96-'98 when they could still kick some ass and people knew who they were. I just don't think they can put out anymore. None of 'em.

Dave can't sing (not that he ever could) or even scream anymore. No one wants to see his Mick Jagger routine. It's just not cool at 50+. And if he keeps grinnin' that plastic smile of his.... Eddie keeps falling down drunk on his Sustainer. He ruins more songs with that thing nowadays. And people thought he tapped too much.... Sammy writes worse song lyrics than before if that's possible. Upchuck for a Paycheck. It's About Cash. Where's Desmond Child when you need him??? Alex??? Is he still a functioning human? Will he show up in a full body cast? Mike is at least normal, but he's not going to carry the proceedings with root notes.

So, as much as I would like to see the Mighty VH in prime condition, it ain't gonna happen. Sorry to be the bearer of such bad tidings.

Rob,

I'm a sucker for a happy ending as much as anyone. It's just that all signs are not pointing in that direction as I and others have noted. What a damn shame.....

As big of a fan that I was of Eddie.. I'm not so sure that I'd go to another "reunion" tour unless it was with Dave.. Eddie's performance here in Little Rock back in 04 was soooo dissapointing. After every solo I've EVER seen the guy do, I couldn't wait to see him in action again..but the last live solo I heard him do was complete garbage. Sad cuz he's the guy that inspired me to pick up and play guitar. Unless his playing actually gets better.. I think I'll remember him for what he was and not who he's become. Just my opinion.
