Any update on the status of the tracker? Or on which members will be testing?

I'm working on a tutorial now. I've come up with a list of beta users and will create a new "group" soon.

why do you have to be a member of a secret club to view this page? & what criteria do you have to meet in order to be included? I have uploaded 100+gigs of VH material (mostly my master recordings) over at jamtothis & all I had to do was be a regular member of that forum.
I guess noone wants me to share anything here...

Steve, com'on, I can't believe you just said that. YES, people want you to share here. The limitation were just well things were being worked out. Once the bugs are worked out it will be opened up further. Geez, that's a comment I would have expected from Lou not from you.

Not that it matters all that much, but the tracker isn't out of beta yet. In fact it doesn't work at all right now. Once the bugs are worked out, I'm sure it'll be opened for many more members.

Oh FUCK OFF. This is so gay with this exclusive club bullshit as if anyone in that club has contributed 2% of what Steecoe has to you guys. I wonder how many "WDFA" members are still wondering what that means.

Don't worry Steecoe, I'm not part of Roberts' LAME club either.

I don't even give a shit, like I said there's never going to be anything on there that I'll ever need, but as far as Steecoe goes:

You people don't deserve someone like Steecoe.

I hope I made my opinion on this abundantly clear.

Lou, we've had enough of your ramblings. I don't give a flying fuck what you may have done on other boards, on here you've been very little but a people-bashing, insult-throwing troll. If this site is "gay" and "bullshit" (what are you, twelve years old?), why do you continually come on here time after time? Personally, I don't have time to visit websites I don't like, let alone post all day and night shitting all over as many threads as I can.

If this is such a lame website, I find it funny that you've never personally e-mailed me with recommendations or suggestions you've had. Many people other than you have done that, and I've often taken their advice. I've always been open to suggestions and (constructive) criticism. You? I wouldn't expect that from you...probably just more VHTrading bashing on other sites and pride that you've been banned (yet again).

Here's a nickel's worth of advice, Lou: when you finally decide to move out of your parents' house and decide to get a job, learn some people skills. It might do you some good. I've met an awful lot of people in the world who can be generous and (SURPRISE!) not cocky or an asshole about it.

Not that's it's any of your business, Lou, but everyone who has contributed to the site will be able to seed and leech all they want, including Steecoe. The "Club" (for those who have seen it) is not some super-secret, super-serious organization. It was simply as a separate forum created for moderators, site contributors, and others to talk about the website. The "others" I refer to were originally those post count reached 500, but I turned that function off some time ago. Now I'll manually add members to it every once and a while. So when it came to testing the torrent tracker out initially, I just chose the group until it works...

The torrent tracker may take time to bang things out. The JamToThis forums uses a VBulletin software, which has had nice, well-tested-out torrent tracker add-ons for probably two years. I use phpBB on the other hand, and it the options for it are pretty scarce when it comes to a tracker or an uploader. So I've got to do a lot of trial and error before I can get it working (quite frankly, a lot of the P2P technologies are new to me when trying to integrate it with PHP code).

Very well said. This has been coming for a LONG time.

Scott....thanks for posting some explaination to your problems....maybe this will quiet some of the ramblings here....I have no idea of how you do the torrent tracker work...and I am a very patient person....last time I checked....there are more torrent sites than I can download from at one time....so as far as I am concerned....take all the time you need to get the bugs worked out....I would hope that the members here could understand what you are trying to do....and when this is complete...we will be proud to have our own tracker....that works for us. That seems to be your goal...so stick to it....I am not trying to speak for all the members here...but I really think that maybe just a few of them are anxious and perhaps they just did not understand what you have been trying to work thru. Maybe you should start a thread for torrent tracker advise....and see how much some of us know that could help you....I will tell you now...dont look for my name on the list....I do not know a thing about that stuff! :D

First, Lou, I'm sorry if I offended you, I didn't mean to but I stand behind my post. If you had posted the exact same thing as steecoe, I would not have been surprised, I was surprised he posted it. I'm sorry if that offends you but it is the truth not it is not meant to be offensive, it is just a fact. Again I did not mean to make you upset, I'm sorry.

Lou II wrote: You people don't deserve someone like Steecoe.
Lou, I have known steecoe a long time and I don't think anyone takes for granted what he has done and what he continues to do. I was collecting before you even knew who Van Halen was, as a matter of fact I believe I was trading with steecoe before you knew who Van Halen was. Steecoe is one of the nicest people and one of the best traders I have ever met. I hold him in the highest regards. Now before you get upset at my statement about collecting and trading before you knew who Van Halen was, let me try to head off that anger and provide a little background. I have read a post of yours whereby you stated you first heard Van Halen in 1996 or 1997, although it could have been 1998, I can't really recall but I do remember your post saying that it was the late 90's and that you like Van Hagar until 2001. Now I on the other hand started listening to Van Halen in the mid to early 80's, '82 or '83. I was introduced to them via my brother who had been listening to them since '78 or '79 and a friend of mine who had been listening to them since '80. Well, as the story goes, my brother introduces me to boots in 1989 and I started collecting all sorts of stuff immediately. In 1993 I started trading DATs and that is when I came across steecoe. He and I traded DATs through about 1999 or 2000. After that life got in the away and we stopped trading until we met up again here at VHTrading and at JTT. So please don't be upset when I say I have knoew steecoe for longer than you have been a Van Halen fan because it is just fact. And as already stated I think very highly of steecoe as both a person and as a trader. So please don't say we don't deserve a person like steecoe and please don't imply we take him for granted.

And as far as the tracker ...

Why, oh why, did I go to sleep last night, I could have addressed all this then ...

Last night when I went to bed, as far as I knew, THE TRACKER STILL WASN'T WORKING ... a couple people are testing it out but it isn't functioning (to the best of my knowledge). I'm certain Scott will work out the kinks and soon we'll all be enjoying it but it is still being worked on and it IS NOT UP AND RUNNING YET.

The same thing is happening over at JTT, Brett asked some people to test a new tracker for him, a couple people volunteered and he is worked through the bugs before it goes live. At first there were a few issues but Brett has been resolving things. I guess that doesn't matter since JTT already has another tracker they can run on and no one really realises what is going on behind the scenes.

Patience and all will be good.

That statement was slightly sarcastic, because I know that noone will turn me down when I offer to give away my recordings :uhoh:
However the first questions were legit. Scott posted a link in the open forum to a page that was not openly accessable. I saw no open invite to test any beta trackers, I saw no further info on the "club" or who was a part of it or how or why you had to be privately invited. Were you aware of any of the info I was asking about? If so where did you find it? maybe it was on one of the 403 forbidden pages that I can't get to....Maybe I am just a moron who can't read, as was pointed out to me in another thread :sus:
