Here's my list.

a) The "Preview" and "Submit" buttons when composing a message have been reversed. I now find myself hitting 'preview' instead of 'submit' when I'm done composing a message. (this may be a good thing)

b) On the "Latest Topics" page: http://www.vhtrading.com/forums/recent.php
I'd like to see the post topic(s) be wrappable within it's cell. Currently topics don't wrap, which means that long topics (such as NJ's DVD trackers) push all the right-hand side conent off the side of the page, requiring horizontal scrolling.

c) I'd like to see the "Replies" / "Views" column on the Latest Topics page fixed so that the numbers line up with the text instead of wrapping (badly).

d) I'd like to see more than just 4 images on the "recent public pics" section of the Artwork page: http://www.vhtrading.com/forums/album.php

e) I'd like to see external links in the forums open in a new window instead of the same window as VHtrading.com

Otherwise, the site is looking as good as it ever did!

I wouild also like to be able to access all pages when I click on the link -- I still get "403 FORBIDDEN" all the time, at random, no rhyme or reason :furious:

Unfortunately, the login or "forbidden" page problem may be unfixable. It sounds like it's related to or similar to the "rotating IP address" problem that's been plaguing AOL users for years on message boards. This board requires a fixed IP addy per session, and if your ISP is changing your IP on you every several minutes then you're essentially screwed. I personally have logged into the boards from various locations using Yahoo/SBC/AT&T and Comcast and have had no problems. The few times I've used a proxy server through the Tor network I did see a similar login problem where after I've restarted my browser and logged back in, all was well.

Ron, I'll see about fixing the little problems, probably shortly after we get the torrent thing going.

I only use aol as a browser ontop of a cable modem. my ip address never changes. This is the only message board that gives me this problem & the only one that ever has in the 8 or 9 years I have been on AOL. I have only had the log in problem since the forum update. :sus:

At the moment we are house sitting at a different location and are using a totally different ISP than at home and the login problems are as bad as ever. So the problem cant be at my end. I have had no problems with the old versions of the site and I have no problems with the other forums I frequent.

I dont use AOL either.

I hope this is fixable as its really pissing me off logging in nearly every time I visit.

Chris.

I find it interesting that folks are having the problems outliined in this post. I use Firefox and high speed without AOL, and I don't recall the last time I had to log in here. I also don't recall any 404 errors.

I'm able to fly from page to page quickly.

I have only been having the "403 forbidden" message for like the last year or so. THIS IS THE ONLY SITE THAT HAS EVER GIVEN ME THIS ERROR. I don't understand. I have used AOL since 1997 & I DID used to have AOL dial up (till 2002) which gives a new IP everytime you sign on & have never had that issue at any other message board. Its not an error message generated by my browser either, its a message from this board that tells me to contact the administrator. It may very well be an issue with AOL users, I don't know what it is, but it does piss me off when I can't get to different pages.

You know it's times like this I wish this were still a static site.;)

Okay, I've gone through the sessions code and have tried to see where I could strip a little of the IP limiting code without giving up too much security (which of course, it the big reason IP vaidation is done, in addition to being able to remain logged in). I can't give too many details, but if you've had problems please give it a week or so and let me if it helps.
