Haven't seen this one yet.

What was/is the best tandem in rock? Any combination of guitar, bass or drums.

For starters:

Sheehan/Vai
or
Dave Murray/Adrian Smith

Tandem..... never heard it used in that sense before!

Some great ones of the top of my head.....

Tipton/Downing
Frea/Frusciante
Ward/Butler
AVH/EVH
Bonham/Page
R. Schenker/Roth
Vai/Sheehan
Gillis/Watson

There probably loads more but I gotta go...

Later,
Chris.

They are an awesome team. If it werent for Glen & KK, Maiden would not exist as we know them. Murray and Smith owe a great deal to them

Brian Robertson and Scott Gorham were another ground breaking dual lead combo and sadly underated too.

Chris.

How about Brad Whitford and Joe Perry. I also think Rudolph Schenker and Mattias Jabs make an awesome "tandem".
