| I'm wondering what some of your favorite guitar tracks are? Not just songs by Eddie either. |

| One of my favorite rock instrumentals is Mr. Scary by Dokken. Man George rips on that track. I also like the song No more tears by Ozzy. Zakk really has great build and release in the solo to that song. |

Anything put out by Derek Sherinian but my favourite is the album Black Utopia. Just look at the names on this list:
Zakk Wylde
Yngwie Malmsteen
Steve Lukather
Al DiMeola
Billy Sheehan
Greatest playing by all of those guys in my opinion. |

Still Of The Night-Whitesnake, guitar player is John Sykes. Sykes also has solo albums and another band called Blue Murder. Great playing from this guy!!
Joe Satriani-Always With Me, Always With You is really beautiful w/sweet guitar work.
George Lynch-Excellent guitar work on EVERYTHING he does, especially Dokken's "Heaven Sent."
Billy Duffy-Guitar player from The Cult. The album Sonic Temple says it all.
Vernon Reid-Living Colour guitar player who is amazing. See the albums Vivid and Time's Up for a reference. |

Great players so far on this thread.
I have been listening to Alcatrazz with Yngwie Malmsteen of late.
The first two Alcatrazz recordings have some of the greatest ROCK guitar playing I have ever heard.
Yngwie was such a monster in his early days, and still is today but I like the earlier records better. |

The live Alcatrazz vid from Tokyo and his first solo album are my favorites..... he certainly lifted the bar for technique in the mid 80s at a time when Ed was starting to rest on his laurels. Its a shame that he hasnt done anything interesting in the last 20 years IMHO though. But back in the day as an 18 year old I though he was the dogs bollocks for a while :D
Time to brush up on my 3 octave harmonic minor sweep picked arpeggios now :D

| If you like early Yngwie...try the Steeler cd. The one with Ron Keel on Vocals. I like that album. Too bad they didn't last long. I think he got the call from Alcatrazz after that. |

| Nuno's playing on "3 sides to every story" is outstanding, especially on "Cupid's Dead". |
