Hi Uncle Ted,

I am no expert but here's how I got the to play on the pc.

Using Win98:

Double click (DC) my computer, DC the drive with the disc in it, this will let you see the folders.

We are looking for *.dat files. Typically they will be in the mpegav folder. Once you find the *.dat files (they should be of considerable size in the Mega byte range) Left click on one of them.
A drop down list will appear, choose the option at the top "open with". Next the box "Open With " will appear, I uncheck the the box near the bottom that says "always use..." it is a bad thing so uncheck it. Then scroll down the slider until you see mplayer2. Click it once to turn it blue then hit ok at the bottom. It should start playing.

Or you can get a software dvd player frontend. There are a few out there which make it a lot easier :)

I am really new to this too so I do understand the frustration.

Best of Luck!!
Bill

Sorry Ted,

It should have read "right click on the *.dat file to bring up the menu with the "open with" option.

F*ck'n brain - I tell ya its not what it used to be :p
