What 2004 Shows are the sloppiest?

Sorry, had to ask this. I'm not a big 2004 tour collector - which shows seem to have Ed in a bad state. I've seen the boot titled" Cheap Drunk..." and have heard that the last show was a little rough on Edward.

In my opinion, EVERY 2004 show was sloppy compared to Ed's standards during the 95 Balance tour or even the 98 tour.
He had some decent shows I guess like the Hartford one was alright.
But I must say that the absolute worst I have ever heard (total sour notes and just sloppy playing) had to be the last show in Tucson, AZ. This however ironic because the soundcheck was SMOKIN!!!

That last show is horrid. Best of Both Worlds was particularly bad. Wasn't that also the one where Eddie said during his solo I'm not drunk, I'm just having fun or something to that extent?

The soundcheck WAS great though.

There's a show that just came out that is soundboard quality, 9/17/04 Atlanta Georgia. How is that one compared to the others in terms of sloppiness?

That Atlanta show shows his sloppiness only because it is magnified. You can hear very clearly how sloppy it is. I'd be curious to hear what the last show in Tuscon sounded like with a source similar to the Atlanta one....might be a train wreck.

The Atlanta show that sounds like a soundboard also magnifies his backing vocals (if you can call it that). Sometimes he got the words, sometimes he didn't bother. His voice was rough, almost like a bad screaming to me...

The earlier shows in the tour seem to be more "focused" than the later ones. I think after August 2004 things started going downhill.......fast!

When I saw VH the soundcheck was awesome!!! EVH sounded incredible at soundcheck but sounded like sh!t in the concert... Maybe at soundcheck he was sober because during the concert he was a lil drunk...Ory

The Toronto show I was at was pretty bad too. He was very sloppy and
the sound was just horrible. Not the same Eddie I saw when they played
in Toronto in 98.

i think that the 2004 tour had bad and good moments.

Edward's playing wasn't always precise. too many mistakes... because probably he was out of focus.

But we had some good shows: Hartford, Philly, and Cincinnati are my favorites.

Honestly, the 2004 tour cannot be compared with the 98 and 95 tours.

Lets think that the 2007/2008 tour will be the best ever :thumb: :)

Lets try to be positive :thumb:  :thumb:  :)

I sure hope we don't have to make a thread updated for 2007 :(. Eddie should be on his game if all goes well.

I've got the 'Cheap Drunk in Denver' 2 DVD set. The title comes from Sammy talking about the altitude in Denver CO. By far one of the most solid shows Ed n company put on. I might be a bit biased, that show was also my first VH experience in person.

Bozeman, MT (11-14-04 iirc), on the other hand, was very sloppy. Ed screwed up the little riff right before the solo in 'Somebody get me a Doctor' and was arguing with Mikey on stage at the same time. Dreams, however, was the highlight of this show--I've never heard it played that tight before.
