This guy will be doing some time in prison with that site.
I know a guy at record showsyears ago did the same sort of thing with boots.
Anyone remember or buy stuff off of JEFF'S RECORDS. The word is he got busted by feds and was fined 10 years of jail time.
I use to get all kinds of boots from him until he was arrested. |

| I've been getting e-mails for 4 years now from Mar(no not the same Mar as we have here) I go through his list every once in a while just to check it out. Ya one day he'll get it. :p :p :p Actually we discussed this guy about a year ago and looks like he's still going strong. I'm amazed at how long some of these sites last before the hammer comes down. Personally, if you are stupid enough to pay that kind of money you deserve to get ripped off...and for the site operators, they deserve to get busted in a major way.
I remember a few years back there was a guy in Texas I believe that had a HUGE bootleg selling site. Someone hacked into his site and when you loaded it a page came up saying something along the lines of, "You want it? Then trade for it!" And gave a list of trade sites. He popped up again with a new domain name a few months later but shortly there after it was gone. My guess was he was finally busted. |

It's the same guy.... This guy is a big Van Halen fan because his VH stuff is doubled compared to the other stuff he is selling.
It's funny because he has on his web site his full name, full address, telephone numbers and what type of payments he accepts. The only thing he needs to do now is give directions to his place so the FEDS can bust him.... He knows what he's doing and he is probably making $$ off of this so eventually he will pay the price for selling the stuff when he gets caught. |

I wouldn't say that. Most people don't know that you can get bootlegs for the price of blanks and postage. Five years ago I probably would have bought some from that site or Ebay or where ever just because I didn't know about this site or others for that matter. |

Maybe stupid was a bad choice of word. Sorry.
I found out about trading through a local indy record store several years ago. Back then the Internet was in its infancy so sites like the one mentioned and Ebay were not an option. I can honestly say in 15+ years of trading I have only paid twice for bootleg material. I guess it all comes down to being informed. If any of us can help that process along the trading world will be that much more enjoyable. |

Trading with anybody wouldn't make him any $$$... All he cares about is $$$!! He probably traded for these to start his collection a while back, sign-up for trees, D/L, or even bought them himself.
I noticed he had too much VH and some of the stuff was tree'd out here but most of it wasn't... He's involved with these VH boards but under what name?
In time he will get caught!!!
I started out buying stuff 10+ years ago going to record shows and also bought on Ebay.. Once I discovered the world of trading it all stopped.. I remember in High School going to Wild Rags Records and buying bootlegs and tons of bootleg videos... I wish I still had them now I'd be rich!!! :D sssh :D sssh |
