Hi folks,

Although not a newbie, as I have been a member for over three and a half years, I haven't posted much (31 I think). I got the first VH album back in 1978 when I was 15 years old and it had a profound effect on me. I still listen to it today and I'm blown away by Ed's rhythmic feel and technique and also those great harmonies. I started collecting VH audio and video boots in the mid 80s and I'm still on the lookout for new stuff and upgrades (mostly the Roth era, I guess I'm showing my age). I certainly don't cosider myself an authority on VH boots and there are many people here who have a great knowledge of all the details. I have been lucky enough to get in on some trees over the years and have done a some snail mail trades with a few members. I just recently started popping back in here and really took notice of the fact that this is a great community for all things Van Halen. I think I speak for all of us who are behind the scenes (I'm not fond of the word lurker), when I say thanks to everyone for keeping the vibe alive even though the band itself, hasn't had much luck doing so.

Hi Dan and welcome... again :D

Do you still have your VHS boot collection? If so do you have any nice low gens that might be worth converting to DVD or any stuff that hasnt made it to DVD yet?

Chris.

Hi Chris,

The video pool from the Roth era is fairly small and I have relied on people like yourself, the Digital Dan and others to get the best copies. I remember going through 4 or 5 copies of Montreal '84 on VHS before getting a decent one and then I got Dan's version (from a tree here actually - thanks Tom) on DVD and it was better yet.

No Mike, that's not me, but you did help me out a while back with some blank DVD trades, before I had a burner. I'm located in Halifax.
