Got an email this morning from the guy who said he was going to sync up the audio from this show with the DVD he has.

It's on its way to me tomorrow!!!

Once I get it, I'll give it a quick run-through, then set up a tree for everyone here.

Great News Vince :thumb:
Thanksss

Okay everyone, here it is:

The DVD's arrived in the mail today. The person who sent this show to me originally stated he was going to have a buddy of his sync up the audio, but since his buddy was dragging his feet, he told me he'd do it himself.

I'm watching it now, and it doesn't sound like the audio was synced up after all. If this is the audio from the venue, I have to admit that it is somewhat fair. If he did sync up the audio, then it sounds as though he was playing with his levels while syncing it up. My opinion? He probably gave it an honest try, then gave up and sent me the original because the audio doesn't sound like the supposed "soundboard recording", or ALD, we all have.

The taper was up in the higher seats, and he did a fantastic job of getting lots of great close-ups of the band, both on stage and from the video screen that hung over the stage. The video is crystal clear. You probably couldn't ask or hope for a better bootleg of this particular show. Ed doesn't look, or sound, like he was wasted, which was the norm for that tour. I didn't notice any stumbling or anything of the sort.

Once I get a reply, I'll post it all here for everyone to read. I'll get to work on setting up a tree for this after his reply as well. I can say this much: Anyone who signs up for this tree will be very pleased with their discs when they get them.

Why don't we get one of our "in-house" experts to sync up the audio with this show? I've had a video copy of this show for some time now.....didn't think it was that rare. The video is nice, but the audio distorts bigtime.......a re-sync with the soundboard would be sweet.......if done properly. :thumb:

I wasn't sure how many copies of this show were circulating.

Is yours the same as mine? It's not authored, just has a blue screen at the beginning with the title bars, and it's a 2 DVD set? If so, I thought the audio was pretty clear. Not really distorted, but it definitely wasn't soundboard or an ALN.

I don't claim to be an expert but I'd be willing to give it a shot. Last one I did where I replaced the audio turned out pretty darn nice.

Just got a reply from the person who sent me the DVD's.

Nope. It's not sync'd up to the soundboard/ALN audio.

So, if anyone wants to tackle this, go ahead. I'd do it, but for 1 hurdle: I don't know how.

It's not an easy to do and you have to be patients when syncing audio w/ video.... Best advice Guitard gave me was watch the drums... Follow the drummer and it will make it easier to sync up!!

I did a sync job a few years back on a Judas Priest DVD that VHL sent me.. It came out nice in my opinion.

The last one was the Loss of Control video where I synced it up to the audio CD... I had a harder time with that clip then the whole Judas Priest DVD.

Thanks for making the effort in giving VHT an upgrade! If Frank does do this it's going to be a gem!! :thumb:  :thumb:

"Patience" isn't in my vocabulary.

Never had it. Never will.

I haven't watched it in awhile......I just remember the audio not being as good as the other 2004 boots.

My copy appears to be the same as what Dirq has on his site:

Yep. That's it.

I thought the audio was actually somewhat decent. It would sound much better with the new audio on it, though!
