Van Halen or Van Halen Related Torrents Only.
You must be a member here 3 Months and have 30 Posts to access the Torrent sections.
Once you meet these requirements you will be granted access to the Torrent Sections.
[snip]
speak now or forever bite your tongue.. :D
So the public spoke and said....
VH Related Torrents Only, no requirements.
So why were opinions asked for then?
This was to get peoples opinions... I never once stated you all get to vote and make the decision. This was to get some feedback and ideas from everybody to help me get a better idea in what to do about Torrents.
I wanted people to voice their opinions and maybe somebody could come out with something new that would give me a better idea in what to do.
Now I'm getting people questioning this??? I think I will not ask for members ideas or opinions anymore because it's just causing too many headaches... I think for now all the decisions will be made with myself & MODS only and not ask for anymore input... This way people can complain the same way as they are now but this time the members had no input or got a chance to voiced their opinions.
If people want VH Related Torrents Only, no requirements then fine so be it.... I opened the Torrent group and because I can't change the settings on this it still going to require members to have 30 posts but it's open to everybody after 30+ posts.. BOOST AWAY!!! |

I'm surprised no one is interested in first release vids of other bands. I'm gonna shoot Rush next month. I hope to get a nice screen shot. I would gladly have torrented it here first for the folks to get a first crack at it.
But as you've said... the masses have spoken.
Randy
Randy this was brought up with you before and your reply was..well more people will access it at such and such a site. Now all of a sudden it's an issue.
If you would like to share your non VH related show here at VHT first. Im sure a ton of us would gladly Tree it for you.
Thats the whole point isnt it...to share your shows......or did i miss something...what does it matter the way it's distributed..as long as it gets distributed to those who will enjoy it and appreciate your work.
"All of a sudden it's an issue..." How do read that into my post?? I made a simple statement about something that is already a closed discussion.
Regarding the time I opted not to torrent a show here... that was a VHIII show for which there wasn't a great deal of interest, hence my opting to torrent it at JTT instead. I think an unreleased Rush, Roger Waters, or Police show that is nicely authored and only one or two days old would be a different story.
As far as the manner in which I distribute shows ~ a torrent can go out to several would be branches located all around the world in a matter of hours ~ at no cost or trips to the post office. Torrenting is my preferred method of distributing shows, and I don't see that changing.
I simply made an offer to let VHTers be the first ones to get some nice shows. If you want to turn it around and make it look like I'm being an asshole about it - go for it.

But contrary to your opinion three days ago.
Yes and i change my mind all the time. Thats the great thing about life...i can do what i want. I can also make suggestions on this site and they can either be liked or not liked. Amazing.....
We compromise every day in life and when all is said and done..we all gave our opinions and Ory came up with a decision that will make the site better and more managable for all.
and I couldnt agree more.... but ya never know..i just might change my mind again... |
