No picture but I received a great recycled bubble mailer the other day.
The parts of the original envelope that were exposed were paper thin and, no harm no foul, but all the extra packing tape must have added to the postage. It was more funny than anything.
I normally recycle an envelope a time or 2 but my questions are:
1- do you recycle? and
2- what is the worst/best recycling job you've received or sent?
By all means, share pics if you have 'em! :thumb: |

| I tend to get lots of recycled envelopes in trades sent to me, but I have never sent anyone a recycled envelope. The reason being is that when I get a trade, I usually rip the envelope open like a hungry tiger thus making any further use of said envelope an impossibility. |

I always try to recycle.... some envelopes are just past it though and have to be chucked. I will tape up any areas that have got thin, plus I always pull off old customs labels to avoid confusion. I often use extra bubble wrap in my packages too, especially if they are going to Canada! Decatone always takes the piss out of me for not using new packaging, but I've saved a small fortune over the years, and its more enviromentaly friendly.

BTW I hate it when people send discs in folded up bits of paper, or wrapped in newspaper though. I dont like it when people seal disc envelopes with sticky tape either as invariably it sticks to the disc and you have to do a cleaning job before you can play it.

I usually stick the bubble mailer (new or used) inside an envelope, so the condition of the mailer isn't that important. I do this mainly for convenience, as I've got most of the addresses of those with whom I trade saved in a notepad file. I just cut and paste the address into a MS Word document that is formatted for the size of envelopes I use. It only takes me a few seconds to do all the addressing this way, and there is virtually no chance the address will be misread.
Obviously, it adds a bit to the weight, but from what I can tell, for most trades, the postage is the same, i.e., postage for a 2-disk package is the same with or without the outer envelope.
One nice thing - I take large bubble mailers that people at work throw away and cut them up and can use them to send several packages using this method.

I've always thought your packaging technique was quite a novel, cool way of doing things.

I always try to recycle the envelopes - if you print out a separate addy and tape it on instead of writing on the envelope it's very efficient.

If the envelope is good, I recycle it. As they say "Save a tree. Kill a beaver."

| New bubble mailers or express envelopes with Clamshell case..depends on my time. Rarely reuse old packages. |

Even though I dont trade much these days, I've always recycled envelopes until i'm the last stop in its journey and have to put it out its misery... :D
I also make sure I recycle everything before it goes to the trash as well. :uhoh: |
