Concert Review
Hello All, just registered for this site, and thought I'd leave a quick show review.
I hadn't seen them since '84, but they exceeded my expectations for what they gave the crowd in terms of showmanship, effort and just plain having fun on stage again. Dave gets the most kudos for his singing efforts, putting his whole sculpted body into some of the lyrics when he needed to be heard over the instruments. Key Arena has bad acoustics, at least on the floor where I was for a band this loud, so that was somewhat frustrating. Eddie was getting irritated more and more with his tether attached to his guitar, what happened to wireless for his guitar?
The crowd enjoyed the hits from their first 2 albums the most, I felt like I was the only one singing to songs from WACF, FW and DD. Beautiful Girls was really cool, but also thought Little Dreamer sounded really good too. Eddie hit some sour notes at times in his solo, but I'm just thankful he made it through the booze and is happy again, he gave a heartfelt thanks to the crowd as they cheered his solo. Alex was as solid as ever, and I was very impressed with Wolfie overall, just great harmonies from him.
I hope they'll dig into the recordings they suppossedly made around 7 years ago with Dave, it would be great to hear new tunes from them. |
