| Get an Apex. Very inexpensive, and they play everything under the sun including regular .mp3 CDR's. |

Depends how much you want to spend really. Even their nicer ones are affordable. We got the AD-1200 cause it was all they had left in the store that day. But if we had it to do all over again we probably would have gotten this one.
Many people own the 1500 or 1600 though.
Keep in mind these are pretty cheap. But they play everything. |

I bought a Daewoo for $99 a few months ago. It plays everything I have put in it, to include S-VCDs.
These days, you'll have a hard time finding any DVD players that don't play just about every format. Just go to the local electronics store and look around.
Most models list what formats they play right in the front of the player. If not, a display card will tell you. You can talk to a salesman as a last resort - but he'll no doubt push you toward an expensive model.
Like most things - you can get the fancy model with all the bells and whistles, or you can get the basic model. Just get the basic model and enjoy watching the shows.

Jason, I bought an apex $59 at best buy and they're right, it plays everything. dvd/vcd/cd/cdr/mp3 and probably some others I'm forgetting. If you're looking for a better brand name, I was at walmart yesterday and a Pioneer
that plays it all for $98. :D |

| I've had a Apex DVD player over a year ago and it's great. Bought it for $80 at Wal-Mart (I believe it's the 1600 that ScottandMichelle mentioned) and I love it; it does everything and haven't had one problem with it. :thumb: |

| Or be like me and buy the combo, the VHS & the DVD player. That's what I did. The JVC is very nice & you can record DVD shows to VHS tapes. But not from VHS to DVD. Check into that. You will pay more. But hey, Come on, give yourself a break..... spend a little $$$$$$$$$ |
