This isn't a request for the trading of any and all 2007 VH tour bootlegs.
It's a question as to if anyone will be taping shows in certain cities. I'm attending the KC show, and, as much as I'm looking forward to NOT taking my gear with me, and actually enjoying a show without fear of my singing/screaming ending up on the recording, I'm afraid that if I don't, I'll miss out on being the only taper for that gig. And, I'd hate to see that happen to anyone else who's attending any of the shows this tour.
Is there a way we can initiate some sort of list where we'll know if anybody will be taping a specific show, or something along those lines? I know that it's pretty well-known that this tour will be heavily bootlegged, but it'd be nice if we knew in advance what cities will be covered.
Thanks! |

I had an idea like this but I guess some people thought it was in bad taste. The info I had was made public by tapers on a taping forum.
I'll send you a PM with the info I have. |

I went to three shows on 2004 tour and filmed two of them. At the one I didn't film, I got a ticket for down on the floor (I think it was row 17), drank lots of beer, danced, and generally had a rocking good time. Of course, you can't do that when you're filming.
As it turned out, no one else filmed the shows that I filmed (at least - no one else has ever indicated they did). So if I hadn't filmed them, there probably would be no record of those shows.
So I think it's a good idea to record a few, and just go to one or two others with no intention of recording - and just enjoy the show.

| I'm going to the K.C. show in October, but I'm only planning on recording the audio from it. I can't afford anything more than that. |

I know at least one other person who is planning on doing KC.
Please, if you are planning on taping - don't back out because you think other people will tape it. Equipment can fail, people can get busted, and obviously some recordings will sound better than others.
The more sources the merrier!

| Filming is nice, but I meant audio. I should've emphasized that, sorry. |

True, but after recording every concert I attend, I was looking forward to not doing this and enjoying a show I've been waiting my entire life to see. |

:thumb: I go to every concert with the assumption that if I don't record, it aint getting recorded. It may seem like a sacrifice to be a human mic stand, but on the rare occasion that I go to a show & don't tape, I am kind of lost & don't know what to do
You can always get all drunked up & scream & holler, but how often can you tape VAN HALEN? Rule number one: always record. Rule number two: always record!! |

| I'm not sure if I'm going to record Joe Louis or not, I've only thwarted a walk through metal detector once so I'd be a little nervous. I feel fine about the Palace though... |

| There is next to nothing video wise of any band from either the Palace or Joe Louis. Security always seems to be pretty tight. |

| Palace security is easy, they scan your ticket and you're on your way. Joe Louis they have the walk through metal detectors, sometimes the wands and sometimes a pat down. |
