I have had a few questions on this so I'll put my 2 cents in. If anyone has anything to add to help out, please do.
FLAC is a form of coding used to preserve audio sound. if files are converted from .wav to .mp3 or reverse, they get corrupted in quality over time.
A file that is transferred in .flac format, holds its quality. All you have to do is get a FLAC decoder (search online for FLAC and download one for free). Get the FLAC files, convert to .wav and burn to disc. VOILA instant music. Not to mention, FLAC files are compressed for storage and easier to torrent.
