Hi there
What's your favorite Van Halen's (David Le Roth Era) cover album?
Me MCMLXXXIV..
Such a cool cover..a lil boy (cupid?) with smoke on his hand..what a rebellion...
Thanks for your thread... |

| The first album cover had some very high energy to it. I can't remember who it was but some guy in some band that people know said he knew just by looking at the cover that Ed had something. It was just the way Ed was standing, in complete control letting that note ring out on his guitar. |

Interesting, don't think we've ever discussed the covers before!
One thing with VH is that they never did like spending money on printing! no gate fold sleeves in the cvh era. Thank god for people like Hawkwind, In search of space was an awesome LP cover.
Generally the quality of the photography held most of the cvh LP's together, the graphics were poor to say the least, VH2 was the worst cover to date.
I think VH1 is an icon and those pics just scream quality, although Al's pic let things down a bit (did he light a fart!!!).
I'd have to say WACF, just because I like the framing, the colour and the silver lettering with the B&W pic. But VH1 is still the milestone. |
