Hello MInk, heres the review.The show was the same as the other shows i have seen on boots.Iwas hoping maybe they
would change up the set list.Dave put on a really good show.He sang better than when i saw them in 1984.He had a little trouble hitting the notes in every body wants some .Is Dave using some kind of vocal effect ?during little guitars and several other songs his voice sounded funny .like it went out and they punched in someone else singing lead
Im not ragging him ,im just wondering.
Ed sounded really good he played the white wolgang most of the night. that guitar sounds the best,he played the liitle frankenstrat,2 charvels and his EVH replica.Wolgang is starting to loosen up hes trying to be more involved in the show.
He was smiling all night he looks like hes having fun up there.Alex was solid all night i ejoyed watching him play.
MY only complaint of the show is the fake ass background vocals. During ATBL,Panama,Jump,and several others they were too loud,drowning out the guitars.Van halen is a four piece band .It sounded like ten people on the background vocals.We had a great time. I cant wait to see some video,or hear some audio, my cameras zoom was not working so i gave up after 2 songs. |

| Thanks for the review. Sounds like you had a good time. I'm torn with the background vocals, but after hearing the Atlanta 2004 bootleg I'm thinking maybe the extra help is good. Eddie's vocals were a little rough then, so if nothing else at least they sound good now. Glad to hear the show was good, It's a great start to the second leg of the tour :thumb: |

| Thanks for the review. Sometimes Engineers employ pitch shifters to help vocalists that don't have the best range. ie. Perry Ferrell. Or a vocal doubler. Sounds like they had an improper setting. Or it could be u were so stoned that you were hearing things :) |

| hey funkndub in 1984 when i saw them at the myriad there was a fog of weed being smoked.in 2008 there was no weed and i didnt get to see any boobs.I miss the good ole days.its sure does suck getting old. |

Went to the show last night here in San Antonio.
I'm 39 yrs old
But last night I was 15 again!!!
Ed still shreds and Dave is still Dave!
Hope we get to see them again next year and the following year and........ |
