Hope someone can help me out here. I have a hard drive from another computer which i have put into an external case. This drive also has WindowsXP on it that used to run the other PC. Question is can i wipe this drive clean for audio storage and a few pictures or do i have to leave that WindowXP on it???????? There's alot of junk in there i would like to get rid of. Thanks for any help.

Sounds like you should format it. Under WinXP, open My Computer. Right Click on the drive letter assigned to that drive and click on "Format". There will be several options to chose from, then you can format it. Be very careful that you've selected the corrrect drive to format, so that you don't accidentially format something you shouldn't have! |

| You won't need to keep XP on it. The second drive can just be set up as a storage location. Just make sure you've got your cables connected correctly or you'll freak out your system when you try to boot up. |
