I see this idiot is still in business...even after the email flood he supposedly got bombarded with during the summer!
He is offering the Montreal 2007 and Duluth 2008 DVDs both complete with my artwork...that was posted ONLY on VHT...
WTF!?!?!?!?!?

He is now listing VH shows under DLR & Friends

Afaik, the only way to get artwork from here is to be a member here. I think it has been closed to outsiders for quite some time.

The only possibility I can think of is if he has saved the artwork 'home' page as a favorite...you can access that without username/password.
I hate to think that we're busting ass on torrents / trees / vines, etc. so some asshole can profit from it. Is there anyway the mod's can track
this?

Unfortunately, there's not much we can do. I guess we could remove the artwork section. Personally, I don't use the artwork much, but I do enjoy viewing the awesome creations you guys come up with. And, I know plenty of people would be very upset if we did indeed remove the artwork section. So, I don't think we should do that.

Not sure what a good solution would be. Maybe you guys could add big (FREE TRADE ONLY) watermarks across the artwork you post here in the artwork section. And then, e-mail the original (un-watermarked) artwork to known, trusted members who request it. Just a thought....... sssh

I think people would be quite happy to see the sellers account(s) here at vhtrading.com banned/closed.

Yes. And, that is exactly what we try and do.

The tricky part can be identifying these people and their multiple aliases and e-mail accounts.

I'm wondering what if the artwork section is closed down...and maybe art can be inclusive to a particular post...i.e. what I just did with the Milwaukee
torrent...that way ONLY members can access it! I know this is only a minute part of the problem, but it does provide a complete package for sellers.

Along those lines, I understand that the soundboard from Charlottesville is being held back by BillyShears and that he is considering selling it to a "pro"
bootlegger...I assume for silver production (no...not Silver Stallion Productions, you goofs! Bootleg silvers!)

IDK! Just thinking out loud! :irked:

In addition, I have been adding the vhtrading.com moniker to the back of my new artwork!

Could the artwork forum be set up in a way similar to the torrent group?

I just tried clicking a link to an artwork page while logged off and it wanted a user name / password but if you click the link to that section. on the home page banner... it's a free for all!!!
Go figure!

Shouldn't that be changed??

I think it is only the "DVD Artwork -Van Halen 90's" that is "open". It appears to be marked as a Public Gallery. The other sections seem hidden (to me).

Another thing that could be done is to create an artwork page on a place like photobucket where you can make the page only accessible by using a password and the password can only be gotten if you are a member for say 3 months and you have to get it from a mod.

Just a thought to at least combat these people from also stealing the artwork.
