Hi all.
I got my hands on this elusive show a few days ago, traded Greensboro 2DVD for it (THANKS RANDY)!!
When i got it, I watched it, only to find out that at certain point in the DVD the video would lock up and repeat 1 second over and over again, pixelating the video, for about 10-30 seconds (anywhere in between). I spent all yesterday trying to figure out how to fix this, installing many programs, scrolling through Google pages for hours, i finally posted here. I got some great advice from top-notch veteran DVD authors, but still was unable to fix the issue. I tried everything and nothing worked, since i couldn't 'fix' the video, i just cut it. There was nothing wrong with the DVD, even though the media was a cheap brand, the discs had no error's since i was able to copy the show to my PC. Around 9am I opened up TMPEGEnc, and tried to author the disc, after many failures and lots of frustration, i gave up. I was so pissed off because 1 frame of video that i forgot to delete ruined the entire show, and it was a nightmare!!! :irked:

I tried using TMPEGEnc 4 (the new one, with more features) but it was just as bad as before. I looked for another 15 minutes trying to find a good DVD authoring program, and i finally found ULEAD MovieFactory. It was perfect; it was easy to cut the bad segments out and the rest was fine, after i cut up the video for about an hour, took me 3 times, if forgot to save and it would freeze up at the end. :yell: :p

Finally i got the video, just the way i want it, with all the bad segments removed from the DVD, i added Fade In/Out to each segment that got cut, because i didn't like it jumping from one song to the next. I joined the video, and went on to add the chapters, that took about 5 minutes, and then i did the menu. I found a really cool template, but the program wont let you use more than 30 seconds for a motion menu.. :( :(

Thats the only downside, I previewed it, and i think it turned out pretty nice for a DVD that was full of errors. Like Randy Suggested its not a bad disc, but a bad job authoring/ encoding. The reason there are a lot of cuts was because of the bad segments, some aren't that bad, only missing a verse or too, or a little bit of Dave'd chatter between songs. One i think is half the song.

SGMAD - Same bad segment as BG. only cuts in about 3 or 4 seconds, then again when the song is almost over

Guitar Solo / Jam (cuts in middle) - BAD SEGMENT

OVERALL, i think the DVD came out nice, Here are some screen shots. The DVD IS NOT BURNT YET. Its still a project file on my hard drive, any edits or errors let me know, so i can fix it!!!!! Video is great, but a shaky camera, audio is pretty good! A- / A IMO!! :) :D

I wonder if the original person made it with errors on purpose, kind of like some of the old shows had some songs cut so the original taper had the only pristine copy?

Thats what i was thinking about too Rodney... Its kinda like the NYC Bitch committee putting the official material on the DVD so it couldn't be torrented... maybe thats the same with this, IDK though....

Some notes from the tapers friend....

...He just had a little camcorder. Some bitch kept catching him though and telling him to put it away!! So he had to keep moving to other spots. this was a few summer ago at the Oregon County Fair in Eugene. Beautiful hot day, and everyone who didn't pay just stood out side the cyclone fence and just kicked it. Dave acknowledged them nicely. Way cool. I watched soundcheck for a bit earlier in the day. Saw Brian Young jam with he bassist and drummer, but we were getting high and eating, and doing rides so we just left and came back when the show started. Very memorable show. ....
