Well, after an interesting performance on 2/12/08, the boys graced the stage of the BankAtlantic Center once again. Overall it was a better sounding and more entertaining show. I was in the last row before the sound board, center stage and the sound was much better. But it seems the crew running the board needed some well UNdeserved sleep because they seemed completely disinterested.
- Dave was far more entertaining and slowed things down from time to time eg during Somebody Get Me a Doctor when he asked "is it ok if we jam?" They followed that with Magic Bus and a kick-ass version of Mississippi Queen.
- Somehow Eddie's solo was even worse than the last show in Ft Laud. And he knew it...he couldnt handle any type of quick, alternate picking. He was extremely frustrated at his equipment (but more at himself, I think). Then as he approached his mike stand to say thanks after his solo, he apparently tripped and knocked over the stand, falling on top of it and onto the stage.
- At the end of the show he was so frustrated he threw his white Wolfgang offstage and punched one of the cabinets, knocking the whole tower over, as he passed it heading backstage.
- Hopefully they'll get back in the studio soon. I think thats what Eddie needs.
Goodbye Mighty VH. You've served us well over the years and you don't owe us anything.
Thanks,
-Dave |

Here's my .02¢
The show last night was MUCH better then the 02.12 show! Not rushed at all.. Dave was really in the zone, hamming it up for the camera a bunch of times by looking directly into it.. I loved it! It looks like Mississippi Queen is going to stay in rotation in SGMAD - it came off perfectly smooth last night with Dave actually calling for it. We got our ICM story this time.. and it had a unique S.Florida twist to it.. something about how Dave was conceived in South Beach, so Technically he's from S.Florida - the crowd enjoyed that.
It's sad, but I really think Eddie has some serious problems with his hands... his solo was more of the same as last time - no fast picking runs. And when he does try - as in the little melody line in Eruption, it's just so not smooth and last night it felt like it was in slow motion - like 16th notes instead of 32nds.
That being said Eddie and the band played the songs great. He nailed the riffs, the band was tight and feeling good, the show had a nice pace to it but Dave was the star last night. He was KILLING it. A VERY enjoyable show. |

What was your take on this Eddie falling over onto the mike stand and pushing over his amp stack?? as mentioned by csgdemon above.
Just reading it sounds terrible :( |

Yeah.. I wasn't sure how to feel about that to be honest with you.... it looked like he may have tripped... he didn't seem to be hammered or anything like that. I agree that he was so frustrated/pissed off that tossed the guitar before the band was done and punched the amp on the way out... but as far as the falling over maybe it's meds or just a goofy moment? Who knows... he played it off pretty well though... |

I've been trying to find a clip of the "Somebody Get Me a Doctor / Mississippi Queen" medley on YouTube, but no luck.
Can anyone point me as to what to search (if you know), or post a link here. I thought they did this in Orlando too, but the Orlando clip I could find for SGMD was not the entire song and didn't have any MS Queen in it.
Anybody? |

well, the solo of Jump ( as you may see on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0f2N5ae3wU ), was kinda bad... :(
ed can do whatever he wants, but playing like that, it just reminds me bad moments of 2004...
If even in this new condition, with a new band, he wants to mess up the rest of the tour, well, I feel sad. :(
playng bad, is also a form of disrespect for Wolfie...
I hope I'm wrong.

| The man get's paid the same whether he plays bad or good. Unless fans boycott the tour, expect more of the same. |

Actually we recorded 6 songs... but yeah, it's that video. We made a DVD from the files - I was thinking of making a torrent for this site... My plan is to upload the original .mov files to my web server and provide you guys with the link to download them directly. FYI, we got the first 4 songs then 'Everybody Wants Some' and 'So This is Love?'. Great quality with nice screen shots and decent close-ups. |

OK, here's a link to 'Somebody Get Me a Doctor' with 'Mississippi Queen' in the middle...
http://www.digitalcomplexion.net/vain/SGMAD022008.avi
It's almost 400 megs, so you may want to download it to your computer. I'm making a DVD with the other 2 clips we have to torrent here...
Enjoy! |

A buddy who saw the show from the second row on Eddie's side said this:
Near the end of the show Eddie was attempting a scissors kick, got tangled up in his guitar cord and did a face plant on the stage. He was not hurt and in classic style laid on the ground continuing to play his guitar as if nothing happened. It almost looked like it was planned but you could tell it wasn't by the look on his face when he got up. |

If it was the solo from 02.20 then you would have seen it.. He plays the white guitar. |
