Van Halen show postponed
by Lindsay Barnes
Charlottesvillians hoping to "Jump," "Dance the Night Away," and go "Running with the Devil" tonight will have to wait a little longer. Van Halen's concert at John Paul Jones Arena scheduled for tonight has been postponed to an as-yet-undetermined date in the future, according to a press release from JPJ officials.
A call to Arena manager Larry Wilson was not immediately returned, so there's no word yet on whether the icy forecast, the not quite 100 percent ticket sales, or something else is to blame for the last minute postponement, but reviews from Wednesday night's show at the BankAtlantic Center outside Palm Beach, Florida indicate that the band is still in fine form.

Tonight's Van Halen concert at John Paul Jones Arena has been postponed. No reason was provided by the promoter or the band's management, but sources say the equipment trucks for the show had already arrived at JPJ.
The band is also reportedly postponing Monday's concert in Duluth, Ga. Van Halen last performed Wednesday night in Sunrise, Fla.
Tonight's JPJ show was nearly sold out, with only a few hundred tickets remaining. A new date is expected for late spring or early summer.
All previously purchased tickets will be honored at the new date, or refunds are available at point of purchase.
For more information, visit www.johnpauljonesarena.com, www.van-halen.com or call (888) JPJ-TIXS. |

Wow! John Paul Jones has his own arena? Page and Plant must be jealous.

Ed probably needs to rest his hand/wrist.
Either that or they are looking for a new sound guy. :D |

Except, of course, that Dave is/was more interested in Val's brother than Val herself ;) |

WTF? Calling David Lee Roth gay is like calling Michael Jordan a baseball player. |

You could from time to time see Jordan in a baseball uniform, but that's NOT where he did all his scoring. I think the analogy holds up for Diamond Dave. :thumb: |
