I agree a different song or 2, maybe drop/shorten the solos would be nice.

But, think back a year ago.......nobody thought this thing would even happen. ;)

I'd see them again if they changed the setlist.

I think Ed knows its time for a change in the set. Maybe they postponed the shows
to rehearse some other songs.

jk How about dropping Pretty Woman and I'll Wait and adding:

DOA
Drop Dead Legs
Light up the Sky
or even a cool "impromptu" cover of any other song (ala I'm So Glad, Beer Drinkers, etc)

In my experience it's the usually the converse of that, i.e., just what VH are doing here--

--that said, this is a second leg, and I do believe that some setlist mods for the entireity of the second leg are common place.

Especially for cities on the 2nd leg that they're hitting again, like Chicago. After doing 2 sold out nights here already, the fans deserve a little change up. How about doing one whole album end to end. Fair Warning would be a good start...

The band should drop Pretty Woman and Somebody Get Me A Doctor and replace them with any 2 of the following:

Hear About It Later
Light Up The Sky
DOA
The Full Bug
Drop Dead Legs
Me Wise Magic
Can't Get This Stuff No More

These are definitely the top two songs to add :thumb: Hear About it Later - Light Up the Sky
They should open with Light Up the Sky or Tora-Tora-Tora/Loss Control.

Jump should drop out. C'mon 'Jump', be a hero and step off ;)
They shouldn't drop anything from II-WACF-FW

But an acoustic middle would be awesome with Spanish Fly, Little Guitars intro, Could This Be Magic and out with Take Your Whiskey Home and into Secrets and Push Comes to Shove.

There was Guitar Player? magazine with Ed on the cover. It was during the Diver Down tour. He describes the technique used for Little Guitars intro. To finally see that in action last year was really cool. I'd love to see Ed and the boys sitting around playing an mini-acoustic set in the middle of the show :dreamin:

Wes is right.

I mean, as I get copies of the various shows and watch them I remember how I felt when the lights finally went down that night and I first heard Ed rip into the intro - Holy Shyt!! Fckn tingling just thinking about it. And singing along to the songs I listened to in jr high and high school!!!

The event I thought I'd never ever see WAS happening!!

I purposefully stayed away from this site before I went to see them so as not to read any reviews or even the setlist - I wanted a "virginal" experience.

Man, I'm glad they got back together and that I got to see them!

I'm bummed for those who saw them while Ed was not at his best. I'm glad they're taking a breather - hopefully Ed and Dave are still on the same page. My hope is that next time around, Mikey joins them and Wolfie and Al's son open up for them. Then again:

"You are the little dreamer......."

After leaving the shows on my hard drive and out of my CD player for the better part of two months it's not so bad to listen to the show again. Especially the ones where Dave talked before Ice Cream Man and they did all the little "surprises" like Spoonful and Magic Bus. I wish they would open with "Light Up the Sky" or "On Fire" like the early tours, but what are ya gonna do? :irked:

Personally, I like I'll Wait. I think it's a cool song. As far as taking Jump out of the setlist goes, I can't imagine the band dropping their ONLY number one single from the Roth era from ANY setlist. It's silly to even suggest it at this point. Maybe if they release something relevant and they do a new tour with a new setlist, yes. By all means start cutting songs, but I can't imagine a tour with Roth without Jump. Dave has pretty much played it during his entire solo career, too, hasn't he? It's his most popular song.

My break down - (I'm bored at work today...)

You Really Got Me - Piss poor opener, but their first single. I think it's more of a warm up now than anything else.
I'm The One - Rocks. I love it.
Runnin' With The Devil - I really don't care for this tune all that much. I wouldn't mind seeing it disappear.
Romeo Delight - Excellent! I love this tune.
Somebody Get Me A Doctor - Just isn't right without Mikey. Drop it.
Beautiful Girls - It's a good song, but they don't really do it justice anymore.
Dance The Night Away - Gotta have this one.
Atomic Punk - Great to hear this live again.
Everybody Wants Some!! - Ugh...another one done to death.
So This Is Love? - Great song.
Mean Street - YES! More Fair Warning!
(Oh!)Pretty Woman - Cut it. It sucks.
Drum Solo - Cut it or change it.
Unchained - Yes! More Fair Warning!
I'll Wait - Cool change of pace after Unchained.
And The Cradle Will Rock... - Not bad. I'm not a big fan of this one, but it's a crowd favorite.
Hot For Teacher - Gotta have Hot For Teacher.
Little Dreamer - Excellent song.
Little Guitars - I love this one, too, but I wish he'd do the intro.
Jamie's Cryin' - A classic.
Ice Cream Man - You don't have a Van Halen show without a visit from the Ice Cream Man!
Panama - Fun song. Gotta keep it in.
Guitar Solo - Keep it, but either change it up or cut the length in half and add another song.
Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love - I could see this one going, but I think it works better as the final encore. The "Hey Hey Hey" at the end and then the big Van Halen ending would be SOOOOOO much better than ending with Jump.
1984 - They could have replaced this with an actual song, but I can see the nostalgic appeal for doing this and Jump together.
Jump - They have to play this one, but it would be better as a first encore or the last song before the encores.

That's my .02. :thumb:
