Again this is just a rumor, but I thought people here would be interested in checking it out themselves.

I hope this is not true but glad I saw them twice last fall.

VAN HALEN Tour Cancelled? - Mar. 2, 2008

TMZ.com reports that the VAN HALEN tour has just been cancelled.

Sources tell TMZ.com that arrangements are being made right now to cancel hotel stays for the tour — which was scheduled to continue through April 19. According to the site, the reason for the cancellation is guitarist Eddie Van Halen, who is said to be "having issues."

It should be noted, however, that VAN HALEN's representatives have yet to officially confirm that the remainder of the tour has been called off and the TMZ report should be treated as a rumor only.

VAN HALEN postponed two concerts last weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia and Duluth, Georgia. No reason was given for the postponements, but both were rescheduled for mid-March.

According to numerous unsubstantiated reports online, internal band tensions have been flaring up again as the tour has gone forward. The group hit the road last fall with original singer David Lee Roth for the first time in 22 years.

Thats some good news I guess. Hopefully its just TMZ nonsense rumors. Is the canelled tour being reported anywhere else besides TMZ? Then maybe I will believe it...although nothing ever shocks me with this band

But then...they were also parked outside the arena in Charlottesville...

So who knows?

Melodic Rock

VAN HALEN TOUR CANCELLED:
Gossip website TMZ.com is reporting all remaining 2008 Van Halen tour dates have been cancelled.

I can confirm, 100% that this is absolutely correct and there will be no further live shows at this time. We can get to the reasons behind this decision in a later update - but right now I can confirm that the tour is off, but I'm told that there is still some hope that dates might be rescheduled at a later date (to be determined at some other point in time...).
I can add that any possible issues with vocalist David Lee Roth are not behind the tour cancellation.

More music news later today...

Wow, this is not sounding good. Several outlets are already picking up the story, but none that I trust as much as melodicrock.com

One question: I did find a version of the story with this quote: "The last three shows had already been canceled. There have been reports that Eddie was out of it during concerts -- and video of recent performances in which his guitar playing was atrocious."

Can anyone point me to these "atrocious" videos? Jacksonville was the latest show I've heard and it was one of the highlights of the tour (although, admittedly, partly on the quality of the recording).

Here's hoping this is a temporary setback and not another ten-year hiatus.
