The other day someone posted a youtube clip of Ed pissed at the end of some show pushing his cabs and flipping his cables.
I could not see it because I was at work and youtube does not work there. Can someone point me in the right direction?
thanks,

Weird timing...I just this second shut down the window watching that video through a link over at VHlinks.com
However, in my opinion it is a waste of time. I just don't see the things people are reading into it. #1, if he was so pissed why did he hang around to bow, in fact take an extra second or two moment recognizing the crowd (etc.), #2 He doesn't so much push them as he either bumps into them, though I'm partly of a mind they're already going down as he turns the corner.
Wolfie had just run and jumped around the corner as Ed goes around, and cabinets are already wobbling at that point. My best guess is Wolfie bump them or someone standing just behind the cabinets just as Ed was arriving at the corner. It doesn't look like a pissed off guy shoving his cabinets. I've seen that movie, and this ain't it. Pure accident it looks like to me. If you keep watching the video you see Ed pass between the stacks behind Al's drum riser...and he is walking normally. If you'd just shoved over your stack and were pissed I don't think you'd just keep on cruising off into the sunset without doing a little something more.
After seeing this clip, I'm leaning more towards true physical issues (hands/arms would be my first guess)...not a drunken rage causing chaos within the band. No...bad feeling this is really something physical (or maybe that's GOOD...I'm so confused...) |

I was standing in front of the sound board throughout the show. A few times during the show when Eddie flubbed a note (or an entire run), etc., he looked at the crowd and shrugged his shoulders, as if to say, "sorry, I don't know what happened there". At the end of his solo he did the same thing, also pointing to his ears like he was blaming the "sound". Then at the end of the show I focussed my attention on Eddie - he angrily tossed his white Wolfgang on the floor and walked out for the bow. Then as he went backstage, he PUNCHED one of the cabinets, obviously out of frustration, and it began to wobble front and back, causing the head on top of the stack to fall backward (behind the stack), where Dave or Wolfie MAY have been.
Maybe he was frustrated with his performance (as he should be), or maybe he was frustrated with the sound, or maybe he was pissed because earlier in the show he had tripped and fell on top of his mike stand while Wolfie and Dave simply looked on, or maybe all of them or none of them...BUT one thing I can tell you firsthand, it happened exactly as I described above, even though it's difficult to see in the video.

Actually, here is the link to a video on YouTube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0f2N5ae3wU
And it appears my memory wasn't QUITE accurate enough about the minor details of the stack falling over, etc.
1. At 4:47 you can see Eddie throw his guitar on the stage out of frustration, look back at Alex, walk over and yell at someone offstage stageleft (I saw it better in person and it may have been Bruck)
2. At about 4:57 you can see Dave calling him back over and pointing up at the video screen
3. At 5:29 you can see Eddie hit the top cabinet, and then walking backstage as Dave is nearing the stack. As it wobbles, the heads fall off BACKWARDS and the remaining cabs fall front, causing Dave to move out of their way in order to avoid getting hit.
After the next concert they postponed the rest of the dates...who knows...

Meshes nicely with the "Hearing" issue being speculated on.... |

I saw a high quality video clip shot from the pit on Wolfie's side (I don't believe it's in circulation). Ed was definitely not happy. I don't know if he was pissed off, frustrated or what, but the look on his face (almost a scowl) clearly paints a picture of unhappiness. I think the best way to describe the scene would be to say he was thinking, "Alright...let's just do a quick bow and get the fuck out of here."
A multi-cam of this show is forthcoming. Hopefully after seeing the whole show, we will be able to put the events of the evening in perspective and more clearly see what happened. |
