FYI

Contacted ticketmaster today about refunds for the tickets I had since nothing was mentioned regarding refunds for these postponed shows when the news broke the other day. They said they are allowing refunds and gave me an address to send my tickets to. Just thought I would pass along this info in case anyone was thinking of getting their $ back. They will not refund all the surcharges that they nail you with.

You know I was really thinking about the refunds, and if anyone around here is an attorney maybe you can chime in, but I was thinking this would be a great time for a class action suit against ticketmaster. I was going to hold onto my VH tix until they cancelled or put up a new show, but then realized I could use the cash for a few other fun things so I am looking into a refund. But I was thinking that we really get screwed on this, I am going to be out $33. and for no reason, I did not change the day of the concert, when I bought my tickets back in December, there wasn't a caveat that the show may never happen, and if I want my money back I lose 33 buck, multiply that out by all those who bought tickets and that is a shitload of money and we did nothing wrong. In fact we know that once we bought the tickets we cannot change. I really thinks this sucks and I wish there was something we could do about it. This added to the disappointment that I didn't get to see VH the other night, just gets me pissed off, anyone else have any thoughts on this. We the consumer are getting screwed on this.

This was part of the lawsuit filed and won by Pearl Jam in the early 90's (filed suit for monopoly & high fees). However, the biggest issue with this is Ticketmaster policy. The fineprint states they are not responsible is the show is changes / or cancelled and the fees are non-refundable i.e. we are screwed. They provided us a service (they sold us the ticket). It is not VH's fault they postponed the tour, it's just a lose lose situation when a show is cancelled or changed and you can no longer go to the new show, Would a class action lawsuit work? Probably, but when all is said and done, you MIGHT receive $10 for your $33 in fees. No I'm not a lawyer, no I don't endorse Ticketbastards screwing the fans every chance they get, but this is my opinion.

I am thinking about the 4-1-08 columbus show. I may try to see the make up date but with work I may not be able to go.
Too bad about the service charge bite.

My refund notice says that I get back everything except the $5.05 order processing fee.

I sent mine back yesterday for the Mohegan Sun show. I'm interested to see how long the refund takes.

I am getting fired up again, at least a little, what with the semi-positive news circulating. I am even considering re-purchasing tix for the May 2 show in Charlottesville. Anyone on the board planning on attending that show?

Glad to hear that. I too am getting fired up. My wife bought me tickets for my birthday. I was to attend the March 11 show..she had it set up so that she was going to drive me to my buddies house for dinner and drop me off without knowing I was going to the show. At first I thought about getting the cash for the tickets but I decided against it. I am SOOO GOING if they make it back!! How could I not??

I resold mine today on Stub Hub (who I bought my tickets from) for the Madison Square Garden show. When I put them up I added a little to the asking price, knowing that Stub Hub would take their % of my ticket price. I actually netted out about $18 on re-selling my 3 tickets, but how Stub Hub has collected sales fees twice on those tickets.

Glad that you were able to get rid of them. I opted for just sending mine back to Ticketmaster becuase I didn't think they would sell on Stubhub. Still not sure what I am going to do about Atlantic City yet....
