http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003722884

After postponing a handful of dates last week in order for guitarist Eddie Van Halen to undergo tests for an unspecified medical condition, Van Halen is postponing all tour activity until April 19.

Seventeen shows are affected, beginning tomorrow night (March 11) in Charlottesville, Va., and running through April 15 in Baltimore.

According to organizers, Van Halen, who has battled cancer and substance abuse, "is currently under doctors' care" and will "continue medical tests to define a course of treatment." No further details were made available.

Fans are being asked to keep their tickets, which will be honored at makeup dates to be announced.

Van Halen returned to the road last fall with original lead singer David Lee Roth for the first time in 20-plus years. The tour, which features Eddie Van Halen's teenage son Wolfgang on bass, has routinely sold out North American arenas.

I got my hotel booked for Grand Rapids on Saturday thinking they'd be back tomorrow. I am sick of their shit.

I understand Ed is going through something rough but these PR people can't keep the fans on edge like this, it's inexcusable. They should have announced these postponements last week. Imagine how many people booked hotels, flights and rented cars after hearing their shows weren't affected?

I'd be willing to bet tha Ticket-BASTARDS will do NOTHING for all the damn processing fees. Ticket face only.

So April 19th is the Tiger Jam thing right? That makes sense to hold out until then and at least honor that commitment. Man, I'd seriously consider flying in for that, but after all the drama it's a bit of a risk. Although, worst case, I'd be stuck in Vega$ for a few days! Who's with me!

Anyone?

Anyone?

You got it, you will be issued a refund for face value only. On top of that if you ordered them on line you have to mail them back. I'm not sure I would trust a stamp to insure they got there without a sig. I am thinking of getting a refund for the upcoming soon to be rescheduled Mohegan Sun show. It would have been the 4th time this tour and the 18th time overall. I'll have to wait and see, it will depend on the rescheduled date.

How did Billboard.com get the scoop? :irked:

I have a feeling on April 16, they will just cancel the rest of the tour. :yell:
