This is from a guy at vhlinks called VENOM THRUST..
He is a close friend of Ed's girlfriend Janie..He knew Dave was back before anyone else..He was at Ed's house at the porno party..He was also a special guest of Ed and Janie at VH,s last LA show backstage..
Here,s what he said.....
The Real Story

First of all lets get a few things straight that have been posted on this website as well as other news outlets. Here's a few things from a bonafide source.....100% legit.
1. Valerie never ever contacted Ed about the release date of the book. Meaning he never received an advance copy and all the sordid details that were going to be printed! He is not a happy camper. He's had accusations made when there are two sides to every story. Unfortunately for him its a no win situation. This book was released without Ed's blessing.
2. Ed wears two rings. One is his father's wedding band and the other is a promise ring from his girlfriend.
3. Ed is not in rehab! Ed has never taken crack or meth. Stories to the contrary are untrue.
4. Ed's publicist has a contract with the band which states she can only have VH as a client and VH only. His publicist did have a lucrative career before joining the band.
5. Valerie set up the book tour to coincide with the VH tour. (Tacky)
6. Ed does have a hearing problem which is behind the situation at hand.
7. Contrary to popular belief, Val has not contacted Ed to see how he's doing and rarely has any interraction. Recent stories saying she has been in contact are untrue.
Lets just remember Ed and his family are human beings and deserve respect as much as anybody else.
As far as the band is concerned there will be a future.
At this time management say's the tour is postponed....until told otherwise consider it postponed.
Brett is dead wrong! Ed is not in rehab..Ed has not even read the book.
I have not been keeping up on what Andrew has stated...but Ed is NOT in rehab!
As of now it is postponed.
Also Ed's publicist and girlfriend was NEVER a porn star...She did work in the adult entertainment business but not in front of the camera.

Seriously though, Venom, can you shed any light on that situation with Mike and why Ed treated him so terribly and unjustly? Wanting to play with your son does not justify trying to ruin Mike's legacy and contributions.I can't comment on anything to do with Ed and mike....not because I don't want to because I have no info on there relashionship.
I'm sure Wolf was more horrified at the revelations in his mother's book than anything Ed could do.
Im sure Ed's doctor is better at determining what is and is not the best for his patient.
The only difference here is that Andrew at melodicrock.com has a real inside source and this guy is full of shit.
If his source is telling him Ed is in rehab his source is wrong.
Ed has not even read the book ....never even given a advance copy.

I really don't give two shits about anyone's "sources" anymore.
When it comes to Van Halen, what is 100% accurate info today may be 100% wrong tomorrow. :irked:
Of course, this is just my frustrated opinion though..... :D |

I agree with you Wes, but......
VENOM THRUST is the only one on the messageboards who i believe has genuine inside information.
He was always the first one to share new info and was always correct. |

I'm so sick of of all this crap that comes with VH that the only time I'm happy is when they walk out on stage and do the job they're payed to do. The rest of it just has no interest to me what so ever. |

Honestly to me......
I could give to craps what is going on with these boneheads anymore. At this point I could care less if they retire or fall off the face of the earth. I hope Ed gets better and Wolf continues his music in one form or another. Thats all I care about.
I saw them with Dave one more time back in October (my B-day matter a fact :D ) and was going to see them again this month and it was cancelled and moved to April and now thats cancelled. WHO CARES!!!!! I did get my 450.00 back and thats what matters to me. I am going to buy my family something nice.... I dont care about VH's future anymore.. I got my boots and thats how I live my VH life and enjoy the memories..... The boots, my EVH replica guitars and all my books and mags and most importanly..... you guys..... thats what gives me my VH satisfaction these days.

I agree with you guys.
Maybe I'm sour becuase of the recent news but how many times can I get my hopes up with this band? I saw them in November and they were great. I have my boots and my friends at this site and thats all I need right now. I will not be jerked around by this band anymore.
Maybe that feeling will change soon, but for now, this is what it is. |

| I'm happy I got to see the band when I did back in Philly in October. Back in the summer I said there was no way I was going without Mike involved, well I'm glad I changed my tune on that one. The band put on a great show for 2 nights and I left with a smile on my face and my memories of it now. I wanted to go see them in Hershey but since that won't happen, like everyone else I have the boots and a memory of 2 great VH shows where I got to see Dave leading the band. |
