For those who like Bruce and the E Streeters...organist Danny Federici passed away yesterday...58 years old from Melanoma. He was with Bruce for over 40 years and was one of the original members of the E Street Band.

RIP Danny...

Man, that is terrible news. I just got a boot from Springsteen's 3-10-08 show, from the Nassau Coliseum, and Bruce mentions Danny and wishes hope for his recovery. It's a dark day on E Street, indeed. Thanks for the music, Danny!

From what I heard, the whole band was there when he passed away. He will be missed.

Fort Lauderdale and Orlando shows are postponed. I've got tickets to the Tampa show, which will be the first show they'll do since Danny's passing. I'm sure it's going to be unique in some way.

Should be a really emotional night. Randy, please fill us in when you get back. I'm going to try and scoop that show up as soon as it makes its way to Jungleland.

I'm a HUGE Bruce fan and trader. And like all other fans, I was very sad to hear this. Reports were that he was doing better so it was sort of a surprise.. Most of the band has been intact for 40 years. Danny's playing is what helped define the E Street sound. I was lucky enough to be in the pit for what was officially Danny's last full show with the band in Boston last November.(he did make a guest appearance in Indianapolis last month). I was able to get a few pretty good pictures from the pit, and posted to a couple of Bruce sites. I was amazed at how many people contacted me for copies. A woman from the Netherlands who is publishing a non-profit book on Bruce and the band asked to put a few of the pictures of Danny in the book which I thought was very cool. She said it captured a significant time in the history of the band. These few shots mean a little more to me now. It really is a sad time for us Bruce fans..............Rest In Peace, Phantom......

I already know of at least one taper (one who records exceptionally well) is going to be at this show. So a high quality recording will almost certainly be available.
