Just curious to see if anyone is going to the Atlantic City show Friday - I should be back home by then and plan on going.

thereadog, a friend and I are driving down, should get there around 5. He wants to do a little gambling before the show. Where are you hanging before the show?

Just wanted to post a quick not from the show:

This is the first show that I have seen/heard since the tour got going again. Thought the band sounded great. Played for over 2 hours with the usual set list.

Someone either yelled something or made a noise of some kind during Dave's story before Ice Cream Man. He responded by saying "Is Sammy Hagar here tonight??" After a mixed reaction of cheers at first then some boos, Dave respinded and said, "Sam's always welcome here"

Hopefully the show was taped. I thought it was a good one. Only negative was the 30 minute wait for a beer before the show. I fly back home to NJ from Kansas City earlier in the day and sat in tons of traffic trying to get to AC. Needless to say, I needed a cold one. Made it to the Arena at 8:30 and waited on the ber line until VH came on at 9. One beer vender per beer cart and it was quite a chore to pour and take money.

On a side note: Loved all the people in the arena in Flyer jerseys. I'm sorry, if you are such a big fan, you are home watching the game...not at a concert wearing a Flyer jersey checking scores on your cell phone. Just had to chime in with that...figured our Canadian hockey people on this site would enjoy hearing that.

Dude ~ that's what Tivo and DVRs were made for!! Personally, I prefer watching the game on my DVR so that I can zip through the commercials and intermissions....and also when I go to take a leak of grab a snack - I don't miss any of the action.

Yes I agree....but why bother watching for scores on your phone? Come home and watch the game in 1 hour and at least enjoy the surprise.

Games aren't the same when you Tivo them and know the outcome already.....haven't you seen the Seinfeld episode when he tapes the Met game and Kramer ruins it for him???

I would be willing to bet that the vast majority of people wearing Flyers jerseys weren't checking the scores on the cells during the show. But there's no way to prove that one way or the other, so who knows?

But I never watch a game when I already know the outcome. In fact, I go through a lot of trouble to avoid finding out about games that I've recorded. This is particularly difficult while living overseas in Asia (which I have done for 11 years and will soon be doing again). Because they are 14 hours ahead. So a 2pm Sunday hockey game comes on at 4am Monday. So I record the game and all day long I have to avoid people at the office who know the score and want to talk about a game, the car radio sports updates, the television sports news updates, the newspapers...etc., etc.

I saw 2 people checking the scores...I know because I asked for the updates myself.

I know its something that I would never do.

I hear what you are saying about being oversees and stuff. That has to be brutal! It drives me nuts when I am on the west coast and have to miss out on things....thank god for the SlingBox!!!

There's a DVD from 1984 (I think, could have been 1982) ... Van Halen is doing a show in Montreal and during the show David says something like, "I hear your kicking a$$ in hockey tonight too." The audience goes nuts. I assumed whatever hockey team is from Montreal had a game that night somewhere else and a roadie told David the score so he could announce to the crowd what was happening and get a huge roar out of the audience.
