Although sketchy on the details, it appears "Little Guitars" has been dropped from the setlist. :( :( Seemingly last played on 4/30/08 in Pittsburgh (confirmed by only one source who was there ... me!), "LG" is a gem from the very, very underrated Diver Down album.
For those of you who do not play guiter, LG is another reason (do we need more?) why EVH can be considered one of the most innovative guitarists in rock history. Although well known and documented for fleet fingered fret work, tapping, harmonics, etc., EVH displays yet another innovative technique in this nugget. A unique stucatto finger picking style(borrowed from flamenco/classical techniques) is prominent in the verse and chorus parts of this song. For guitarists, this can be challenging to play. However, once mastered, is quite fun! Oh yeah, he also plays this live on miniature guitars (les pauls and now strats) -- a "10" on the coolness scale!!
If anyone has "sighted" this great song since Pittsburgh - please do tell. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: |
