I was surfing ebay randomly and came across this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Randy-Rhoads-Ozzy-CD-Ultra-rare_W0QQitemZ110252326016QQihZ001QQcategoryZ33015QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I just sent him an email asking for the date, and asking if there are other copies available.

It would be cool to surface another RR SBD! Anyway, my main concerns are

1. Vague date on cover, just says Jan 1982. I did some research and Ozzy/Randy did play there on the 24th.
2. It could be purposely mislabeled, but be another copy of a commonly circulated show.
3. I found this show on tapetrader for the same date, but it was labeled as taking place in Minneapolis, there is a Minneapolis SBD bootleg from this year, but would be impossible to have it from that date, most likely mislabeled.

Should I go for it and buy it, or is it most likely a fake?

Proper Tour Date:January 24th - Rosemont Horizon, Chicago, IL

My gut feeling tells me this is most likely the case. But, who knows? Only one way to find out.

There is a Ozzy show on that date in IL. It is called " Flying High Again" i think ??? It is graded anywhere form an A - B+..... saw it on a few trade list..... there was a Japanese trader that had the show on eBay..." Diary of a Mad FAn "....but had no info and it had no coverart....

Unless he can give you more info....I would wait......

Thanks all for the help. I just asked for a photo of the CD itself, and an MP3 sample of 1 track. I think it is a reasonable request, considering I might bid over 50 dollars for a bootleg. With the MP3 sample, I can compare it to the AUD source of the same show, or the circulating soundboards to make sure it's not a fake.

I think offering you a MP3 sample would be the honest thing for this guy to do. You're not going to circulate one track and this way you can compare it to the show you think it might be. If people are able to verify this is indeed what he says it is, he may get a higher price for it.

I have had that happen to me. I asked for a 2 minute sample of something and the guy plays the, "I don't know nuthin' 'bout cumputrs" game on me. I always think, "You know enough to make a buck on eBay, so you should learn more about the product you're selling." :uhoh: I hope it comes through, dude. I've taken three gambles on eBay and they all panned out, so who knows?! Good luck! :thumb:

I am guessing it is just mislabeled 82 show or an Aud recording. Hell with most Randy shows it is probably lossy as well.

If I had to bet I would say people mistake Minny 1/15/82 & Mil 1/20/82 the most often for a lot of other shows.

also is it missing "Paranoid"? Didn't see it as the last track on the artwork.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

For comparison you can download the mp3 version of Aud rec of Chicago here: http://www.eternalrandyrhoads.com/ZIPS/82_01_24.ZIP

Same show as the partial video that circulates.

Thanks again, I'll bet it's probably the Minneapolis recording. I'll try contacting the winner, if it's possible. If so, I'll work out a trade. The seller never responded to my emails, if he did, I might have bought it, some of the description was too fishy.

I'd really love to get a copy of the Mil 82 show - I had an old cassette copy of it but it was just about unlistenable. I was at this show - which was the very first show after Ozzy bit the head off the bat at a show in Iowa.
