I'm wondering if any of you have the newly remastered dvd of this. I'm curious if it still has those goofy clips throughout the show. Kind of ruined it for me.

Yes it does - legal constraints stopped them making any changes to the film. The soundtrack CD used to be very different to the film but now is the same, a great site explaining all the differences and cuts used in TSRTS can be found here :-

I agree - the Garden Tapes is an excellent website for digging through the aural and sonic trickery JP and Kevin Shirley used to put all the LZ remastered stuff together.
