Hi,
Does Anyone know the guy, or any contact details about him, that filmed these shows
Van Halen Montreal 82 ,84 ,86
DLR 1986 Montreal
Judas priest 84 and 86 Montreal
Scorpions 84 Montreal
and many others.
It's all the same guy, all I know is his name is Pierre
I Would like to talk to him about a show he filmed. if someone could point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it
Thanks :) |

Best of luck :thumb:
It's probably easier to meet Ed coming out of trap 2 in a public washroom than some of these 'holy grail' filmers.
I'd love to just be able to talk through the filming of VH Montreal,
Sorta puts it into perspective when some guy won't release an 07 or 08 show, wow, I'm loosin sleep. These cvh filmers are the gods to me... real hero's :D |

Same filmer probably filmed this also:
Disc 1: Montreal 1983, audience shot complete show.
Venue: Born Again Collection
Sets: PC- MENU
Source: PRO/ AUD SHOT (Oryo Prod)
Quality: 7
Montreal, Canada
10/21/83
1. Children of the Grave
2. Hot Line
3. War Pigs
4. Disturbing the Priest
5. Supernaut
6. Drum Solo
7. Rock 'N' Roll Doctor
8. Iron Man
9. Zero The Hero
10. Heaven and Hell
11. Guitar Solo
12. Digital Bitch
13. Black Sabbath
14. Smoke on the Water
15. Paranoid
Probably the Def Leppard one too from Montreal 1983.
So many great recordings from the filmer/s and to think how they managed to do it back in the 80's with the big camcorders not like the one's being used now... These are gems! |

I'm sure someone knows how to get a hold of him. He is pretty well know for his Canadian 80's tapes, he has provided for the community. thought I'd run it through here, because this board has several members that are very good at tracking down upgrades, and new shows, and I wouldn't be surprised if they knew him. |

I got my first VH boot from Pierre 25 years ago, along with many others.
Around 1987, the Royal Mounties came knocking on his door, informing
him he couldn't sell his tapes anymore. I have no idea what happened
to him or all of those master recordings. I still have an AP photo of him
from a newspaper that shows him on his motorcycle with his pet alligator
on his back in a backpack. One of these days. I will dig out my old lists
from him to show everyone his awesome collection of master recordings. |

| I correspond by email and talk on the phone regularly with an old school filmer that knows Pierre very well - in fact he helped Pierre film one of both of the Montreal shows. He's mentioned Pierre a few times...I can't remember exactly what he said, but I seem to recall that Pierre has completely dis-associated himself from the hobby. I can ask my buddy about him the next time we chat. |

That would be great... although Digidans Montreal's are cool, I still think there's a lower gen somewhere. Unless he fed them to the gator, I wonder what he did with the masters :uhoh:
Mojo, if you can find his list that would be awesome, the pic would be cool too :thumb: |

Actually, I think short of getting the BetaMax master itself, the lineage (BetaMax Master->SVHS->Digital8) would be pretty hard to beat. I'll inquire about this, but Digital Dan was pretty good about getting the best possible source available, and if he couldn't get the BetaMax master or the SVHS copy, I doubt anyone can. |

Yep, I'd forgot the lineage on those two, Dan does source the best available. |

| What I'd really like to know is when the Memphis 81 super-8 film (not the same footage as the video according to him) that VH_Live has been talking about is going to come out... |
