From topjimmy1984 at DDLR.com
I JUST CAME FROM THE RADISSON HOTEL IN MANCHESTER NH, DRANK WITH A LIGHTING TECH FROM VH CAMP, THEY INTENDED TO PRO SHOOT A LIVE DVD FROM MADISON SQ GARDEN, AS WELL AS PROVIDENCE AND MANCHESTER NH. IT WAS SCAPPED FOR UNKHOWN REASONS. AT BEST, WE WILL GET A LIVE CD, THEY DID HIRE A PRO TOOLS GURU, LOOK FOR CD THIS SUMMER. HE ALSO TOLD ME THEY ARE DOING ONE MORE SHOW IN TORONTO JULY 3/ 4TH. THEY MIGHT GO BACK OUT IN THE FALL, FOR ANOTHER ARENA GREATEST HITS TOUR. THIS IS VIABLE INFO, SORRY TO BRING THE BAD NEWS.
I do know they had memos at the Providence show on the wall saying you were agreeing to be filmed for a possible dvd...
i have seen the July 3/4 rumor on a few sites though...supposedly Quebec to celebrate their 400th anniversary.. |

LIVE VAN HALEN DVD COMING!:
Good news folks - the David Lee Roth fronted Van Halen 2008 tour will be captured and released on DVD! One reader Eric, who just returned from the latest show sent me this message: "At tonight's show in NJ, Dave told the audience that it was the first night to be shot for a live DVD release.. I was very impressed by Eddie tonight.. he looked and sounded like the Ed from 1995.. Dave was, well, Dave... Wolfe did a good job, but Mike was badly missed, and Alex held the whole thing together..."
Sounds good to me!

Van Halen is reportedly filming select shows on its current tour for an upcoming DVD release. Last Tuesday night's (May 13) concert at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey was the first performance to be filmed, according to singer David Lee Roth.
Eddie Van Halen recently spoke to People magazine about his health in the wake of the March 2008 announcement that Van Halen's ongoing world tour was put on ice after the guitarist was diagnosed with an unspecified medical condition. There are still no public details on exactly what ailed, or ails, the guitarist, but he says, quote, "I feel excellent. I'm healthier than I've ever been. It's wonderful."
Van Halen resumed its reunion tour with singer David Lee Roth on April 17 in Reno, Nevada, followed by a performance in Las Vegas on April 19 at Tiger Jam XI, an annual fundraiser hosted by pro golf star Tiger Woods.
Following Tiger Jam XI, the quartet headed to Cincinnati on April 22 to begin the jaunt in earnest, with shows running through June 2 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Tickets for all the original dates are good for the new shows, and refunds are also available at point of purchase.
Promoters stated in March that Eddie Van Halen was undergoing "medical tests to define a course of treatment," although both his son, bassist Wolfgang Van Halen, and his ex-wife, actress Valerie Bertinelli, went public to reassure fans that the guitarist was doing "great." A recurrence of cancer or a fall off the wagon were both rumored as the cause of the guitarist's woes.
The first Van Halen tour in 22 years with Roth behind the mic has been a smash success since kicking off last fall.
Thanks for the report to Blabbermouth.net. |

Hey guys..I had my seats moved 2 seats to the left last night in manchester. I was moved because those seats were used by a guy using a High Def Camera to record the show. I was in a handicapped section for my best friend who had ACL surgery. We were alone in this section with the camera guy. We were on the bands right center near the private boxes. Great view!! Would that mean anything?? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
Peace

| He didn't come in until the lights went off and the show literally started. The camera was already set up. If he was just sitting there waiting for the show like me I most definately would have asked him. I thought it was fairly obvious in my mind why he was taping due to hearing the same rumors you guys have heard. Reading that first post suprised me due to having this camera guy in my seats. It was a High Def camera the guy was using. |

| The shows are being recorded for a DVD release. The main show was MSG in New York and the other shows are in case the correct shots could not be captured at MSG. Straight from the people who know. |

| It would be interesting to see how much editting will be done, audio and video wise. Having San Diego is really grabbing the essence of a live Van Halen show. Hoping for bonus material on the release, not the actual live performance, you know what I would,(quote from Dave) what I would really, really, really like,! Oakland 81 bonus material and I am not talking the 3 single releases. |

| jgdrag people on every board I've ever been on say that. It's pretty well thought of by anyone who's seen even the little footage that's out there. It'd be sick to have something of high quaity from back then. All I've got is Toronto in 84 on dvd and it blows in most aspects. |
