Hey Guys

Wanted to share this
I own a playstation 3, my oldest son who is 3 years old likes to play on it
So i decided he could pick out a game
He picked out Cars Mater-National, a fun game based on the movie Cars
So today after playing this game for a week he started a race
what happens is the ultimate driving song pops up.....
Sammy Hagar - I cant drive 55 (instrumental)
My kid goes..... hey dad this is rock n roll, this is Sammy Hagar
I was like wtf and is it normal for a 3 year old to recognize Sammy Hagar :D

It is in my house - all my children are trained to differentiate Van Halen & Van Hagar songs. :D

Exactly. Same thing with my two sons.....

Anytime a song on the radio, or something on TV comes on that is VH related....I hear "Dad, it's Van Halen!"

Makes me proud every time. ;) :thumb:

Now that's bringing the kid up right! Very cute pictures. I've got 2 boys and a girl. The youngest boy is sort of into rock and roll. And I'm trying to get my little girl into music.

I've got two young daughters and I must admit, they love Hannah Montana but on the flip side the younger also loves Motley Crue so maybe there's hope. I also was so proud when I put on my Exit Stage Left DVD and my older daughter said, "Hey, that's Alex, I love Alex!" She a few years older than your son, Dirq, but it still makes you proud when your little one spouts off with wisdom.

I have to agree! Your son has great taste and will be his own lil red rocker. :thumb:

My wife looooooooves the song "Dance the Night Away" and would always play it while she was pregnant... When my daughter was born my wife would put it on and rock back and fort every so often to the song.

The other nite I was watching a video and that song came on and my daughter who is now gonna be 20 months walks into my office and heard the song playing and all of a sudden started to dance (In her own way) to the song and I just froze.

Kids will pick up everything cause their brains are like sponges unlike ours who are bricks.

Dirq, I don't think it's unusual. My oldest son who is eight now knew the difference between Sammy and Dave at three as well. He and I went to two Van Hagar shows in 04. I beamed with pride when he raised his fist and sang along with Humans Being. It's all how you raise them :thumb: Hey, love the 55 shirt.

My boys were digging just about everything I put in the tape player (this was 1980s - pre-CD player days for cars)...Hendrix, BOC, VH, Kiss...you name it.

But when they got older (middle and high school) ~ Dad's "ol' fogey" jams became extremely uncool and it was hip-hop crap for them from there on out.

Hopefully those of you with youngsters will be able to keep them on the right track as they get older...but it's really hard when their friends predominantly listen to other genres.

Having said this...my boys grew up in very mixed communities with much of their lives being spent growing up overseas. It just wasn't in the cards for them I guess.
