CLiCK

Equally exciting is the high possibility of a Van Halen-centric Guitar Hero iteration coming sometime in the future, since “Activision is in serious discussions with Van Halen about showcasing that band in Guitar Hero,” reports Wall Street Journal. We’ll have more on this as it develops.

Gotta love how they show a pic of the band from 1980.

Would this not be the ultimate Guitar Hero edition out there? I personally do not play games but just thinking that this would be cool for those who play. Let me guess, the setlist would be the same as the tour?

The best part about it would be being able to rip out the isolated guitar tracks sssh

I wonder if the VH version would be the advanced version, and if you could buy one of Ed's guitars just for this version. That is, could you get a little mini Red Devil or a Wolfie when you play the VH tracks?

Thats exactly what I thought of too, that and if they put an Ozzy song on the new guitar hero how cool that would be with Randy Rhoads' guitar!

Interesting. If this did happen, I would expect:

1. Michael Anthony's bass part will be re-recorded by Wolfie.
2. This would only feature CVH tunes.
3. It might include a new song in the works.

I know that Metallica is definatley doing a guitar hero that is due out early next year, if they follow the up with a VH edition that would be a "home run"!

Couldn't agree with this more. No way there are any Van Hagar tunes on the edition - otherwise they would never release it. Recently allowed Verizon to release their songs as ringtones - all CVH tunes. This will be the same

Yeah, I hope this really happens. It would be great if they did all three periods of the band too....Dave, Sammy, and Gary. Could you image how great it would be? If they did all three it would make more money then Aerosmith and Metallica versions put together. Then maybe this would lead the way for the Best Of Both Worlds Tour! Ok, sorry I am dreaming now.

Randy's isolated rhythm tracks (and a solo or 2) from the Blizzard sessions have been floating around for a while, but I've only seen low quality mp3 versions.

I think the songs will all be performed by cover bands. This will take care of any issues with MA/Spambo.
