He was probably watching it and wondering how they went from 'Unchained' to 'When it's love'. |

Here's the link to that Springsteen article. It's dead, unfortunately:
http://www.brucevideos.com/nuke/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=9
I tried to find it from the internet wayback machine, but no dice.
My post on on the Largo issue is here:

It's a shame that Springsteen article is dead because it was excellent. Thanks, ffoner! |

Without starting a raging debate about why he isn't - but should be - in the band...save that for another thread or forum...
Mike was never behind any of the controls when it came to Van Halen...wasn't involved in business decisions or anything like that. He was the happy go lucky bass player whose job was to play bass, sing backing vocals, and get the crowd fired up at shows.
So while he very well might know about it and might even have a copy of the show(s) from the CHV era - he's not in a position to release any of it.
I personally think that he will be back in the band someday (yeah...I know that probably sounds crazy...). I would like to think that he also thinks that. The best way to make that happen would be to simply lay low, not do anything to rile up the VH bros (like release some closely held video or blatantly talk shit about VH Inc.), and to just let time take its course and wait for that day to arrive.
My intent is not to hijack this thread (I've already un-hijacked it once!). So please don't turn it into a "Why isn't Mikey in the band" thread. |

I have read in the past about how he was somewhat of an archivest when it came to collecting VH appearances & videos & such. I highly doubt that he would be in possession of any "master tapes" but if the band has or had knowledge or possession of different footage I would bet that he does have a copies. It would be worth asking him about the next time you run into him :thumb: |

If anyone has any tricks to dig up that Springsteen article from the wayback machine, please post it here. I wish I had copied it into that thread while it was up. :(

I have heard similar things as steecoe about Mikey. I could swear that I even heard Mike say in an interview himself that he sometimes had friends over and they would watch some of the old videos. Now he could have easily been talking about the clips we all already know and love, videos from MTV or the clips we have on Napalm or whatever. But I did get the impression that he was talking about some stuff that hadn't seen the light of day. Now just cuz Mikey's got it doesn't mean it can make it out into the light but there's hope. Maybe he could just send me a copy and I promise I wouldn't share it with anyone ... ;) |

I contacted the guy who posted that some time back, I guess I came in from the wrong angle from what I remember... his accuracy regarding his buddy with the vhs tape all those years ago etc. but I was polite. Got a one liner back something like... that's all I remember. What's even more frustrating I deleted his email after it :( |

| I think you got to be incredibly naive or just dumb to assume that something like a full pro shot from 1980 or 1984 is just collecting dust in someones basement or in a warehouse or something. I think youd also have to be naive or stupid to assume that Eddie Van Halen has it. How do you know what he has? Has anyone ever asked? KISS has released a lot of that footage but they've said in interviews for years that they had it. Who has any member of VH told that they had Largo 80 or 84. Really you cant assume that stuff exists just because you'd like it to. If it was shot, thats great. That doesnt mean someone in a suite recorded it. You got to let your hopes go. Be glad that you have one pro shot from Largo. |

Im 100% sure Eddie owns every show from the 2004 Tour
He taped them all (audio), so it isnt really that strange to assume he alwayd did that |
