| So, has anyone ever sat down with the DCC remastered first VH disc and compared it to the 2001 remastered version? |

yep, Ron. The DCC GoldDisc sounds a zillion times better on my best CD-playing system. The highs are nice and sizzley (without being harsh, like the 2001 Remaster), the overall sound is more transparent and very warm. I know -- these kinda terms always make me say "whatever, dude", too; but, I don't have the vocabulary to say it any better...
The GoldDisc just sounds the BEST out of all the versions I have of VHI (original LP, reel-to-reel, 2001 Remastered CD). I am always amazed how good it sounds and I do listen to it pretty often compared to the other VH Remasters.
Waiting for a 5.1 SACD/DVD-A ... (and not holding my breath) |
