There must be a better version of this that ISNT compressed then the one on demonoid.
You sure you'd still rate this as A to A- after 3 hours compressed on 1 disc? I think it would
be an A+ if it was done either over 2 discs direct to pc or if it was recorded on a standalone
then 3 discs. Preferably recorded to a hard drive of a SA first. |

Right now I have a 1 disc copy, and I'd still rate it as at least A-. I'll send you both copies so you can compare. That would be a 2 disc authored version, as well as a 1 disc "raw" version, different sources.
As I say, I haven't seen the "Demonoid" copy, but I will definitely compare both copies.
BTW, I'm sure the 2 disc version I'm getting will be top notch, as it was worked on by Rad.
If you want to perfect it when you get the copies, be my guest. |

I dont understand why youd rate it as an A- when the three hours of footage would have to be compressed as hell to fit on 1 disc.
That would make the disc more of a VCD in terms of quality then DVD.
McCartney has played since 2002 that I know of two and a half hours, if not longer.
So I certainly wouldnt be interested in a one disc version.
You say you are getting a two disc version.
What is the bitrate of the two disc version and how was it transferred/encoded from the broadcast?
If it was done correctly both discs should be maxed out bitrate wise with 90 mins on each disc with no compression artifacts. |

Okay....... I won't send you the one "raw" disc. As well, I'd "rate" something an A- when it sounds and looks good to me. Rating a disc is an extremely subjective endeavour.
Furthermore, if you're interested in bitrates, transfers, etc., why don't you get in touch with Radikal ? I'm sure he can provide you with all the technical details.
If it was done correctly ? We're talking about Radikal a.k.a Guy. You know... the guy who authors most of the shows put up for trade here.
I understand your enthusiasm for a high quality show, but at the same time, if you can find a better quality, better authored show elsewhere, then go find it, or build it yourself.
I also think a little gratitude, humility, and appreciation for people's efforts comes into play here as well. Guy and I have exchanged phonecalls, as well as thoughts, and ideas regarding the copies of the McCartney show, and the best one that could be offerred up here.
If all of this doesn't suit you, you're welcome to shop elsewhere. Have a nice weekend. |

Deuce..
I agree f there would be a 3 disc SA transfer from broadcast to DVD would be the best but at the moment I didnt see or hear of any yet...Dont know from other sites or anywhere else as I work 70-80 hrs weeks now so i dont spend much time on PC....Right now there is that Demonoid version and Ken's but I havent seen Kens yet..Should tomorrow :thumb: ....Now I myself am not really a Mccartney fan so I just got it for the wife for Let it be and Hey Jude....I chaptered it as I hate watching unchaptered discs..reminds me too much of VHS...lol
I will give a copy to HalenupNorth and will even maybe work on his copy if its better for him.....now he's nice enough to offer it up after for those who would love to see it Now rather than later with proper chapter points....The Demonoid version I watched on my Hi Def screen and its still very nice show to watch.....If you want to wait for SA version maybe you will maybe never see it .........I would still look as it as A- also as with todays technology they look nice as compared to earlier yers...But opinions differ of course....For Mccartney Fans its nice quality and enjoyable to watch......
Ken we call each other tomorrow :thumb:

I think to express gratitude and appreciation over a highly compressed and poorly encoded dvd would be crazy.
If a version comes out that was encoded better at a much higher bitrate over either 2 or 3 discs
then we should break out the champagne. I mean express gratitude and appreciation. |

I think its very nice to put it that way but the demonoid version which is the one we're talking about on a hidef tv is gonna look insanely bad with the compression artifacts like compression soup with Paul McCartney floating in it like a meatball. Live on a hidef tv it could look amazing though. |

 Deuce8Pro, get yourself an account over at HC. There's an upgraded version on a single DVD-9 disc.

In this case, yes. It sounds like the one at Hunger City is the best version, done on a dual layer and everything seems to be on the up and up.
If I had a choice between a pc authored version of this broadcast and compressed or one thats encoded at the highest birate with no menus or chapters. Id certainly go for the one with no chapters. |

Wow, just...wow.
For the record, I will be appreciative for any version that is available. I moved this spring, and am having a devil of a time reconfiguring my system to torrent with ATT DSL. So I am limited to trees and trading for a bit. |
