Hello, my friends :D , I hope you're all having a nice evening, especially if you're still awake ;) . I was just wondering if any of you have any Journey boots from the current tour. I bought the new CD/DVD set from Walmart a few weeks ago and it is downright awesome! Classic Journey is back! Anyhow, I'd really be interested in trading for CD or DVD, just let me know if you're interested. Thank you kindly. :thumb:

How can it be classic Journey w/o Steve Perry?

Unless Steve Perry is singing, it's not Journey.

Have you heard the new material with Arnel Pineda on vocals? Unless you are watching this guy sing you'd have a hard time distinguishing him from Mr Perry. And, by the way, one of the discs included, in Journey's new 3-disc set, has 11 'classic' Journey songs re-recorded with the new singer. So, yes, classic Journey is back, in a sense. :thumb: Anyhow, if Steve Perry doesn't want to play ball anymore, Journey fans have no choice but to support what the band is currently doing, unless they left on the 'good ship Perry. :)

I've heard Steve Augeri and now this Pineda guy. Both men have excellent voices, there's no disputing that. Just the fact that Neil Schon, Ross Valory, & Jonathan Cain cannot find anyone else to sing for them except "100% Perry clones" is funny to me.

I suppose if you had a band that achieved the success of Journey with Steve Perry and your lead singer bailed on you, you might look for someone similar to replace him. In the case of Steve Perry, his voice and style are so unique and so identifiable with the 'classic Journey sound' that finding someone unlike him would change the dynamic of the band and the sound of that classic material. Why would they want to deny their most successful period and their loyal fanbase? Just because Steve Perry quit doesn't mean Journey has to.
