Legendary rock trio Cream--which reunited three years ago for performances in London and New York City--may once again take the stage.
Bassist Jack Bruce tells Billboard.com that a Cream performance may be in the offing at an Oct. 3 ceremony in London during which drummer Ginger Baker will receive an achievement award from cymbal maker Zildjian. Bruce said he and guitarist Eric Clapton plan to be on hand for the event, but was non-committal beyond that.
"I know there's a good chance we may play at that event ... but I don't want to overstate it and make it into something it isn't," he is quoted as saying.
Bruce went on to say that he and his bandmates would most likely discuss playing some future headlining shows.
"I think there might be a chance of some more," he said. "I would like to do some more, 'cause I enjoyed [the 2005 reunion]. It was very emotional. I would like another shot at it.
...OK, I've heard this every year since the 2005 shows, when is it actually going to happen? This interview also contradicts what each of them said after the MSG shows in October 2005. I'd love to hear them play again, but quit the hype already, jeez, they're starting to sound like Van Halen or something. |
