I have had a couple trades end up less than stellar in the past few weeks. I noticed that the individuals that caused trouble had the following thing in common: They typed e mail correspondence in all lowercase and did not use much punctuation.

So, in order to save myself the time and trouble in the future I will only trade with people that use capital letters to start sentences and occasional periods thrown in when needed. I'm not talking about perfect grammar because God knows mine isn't.

Here is the translation to "chatspeak":

...if u email me for a trade and it looks something like this... i will fukin delete it... k...

We may need to start a campaign. Here are some possible slogans:

"Periods are for everyone."

"Make your third grade teacher proud when you e mail."

"Capitalization: it is a BIG deal."

Maybe some people can only type one handed because the other hand is stuck in a clawed position from spending too much time at certain types of web sites. They should stop before they lose their eyesight, too.

:D :D :D Paul

I believe since the advent of the internet and e-mail, we have a much better idea of how many people are truly illiterate and can't write a sentence (let alone a paragraph) worth a shit. ;) :p

Geez, I forgot all about that rant!! Shows how piss poor attitudes in Michigan can get in the middle of February. :D

The guy I that dinked me on that trade is not a member of vhtrading.com and he sort of eventually kind of made good on the trade.

He used no caps or punctuation in his emails. My rant is not an indictment of that type of email (even tho' it says it is). If you want to make generalizations, since I live in Michigan you could generalize that I drive 90 miles an hour on the highway and pass people on the right and maybe belong to a militia. Well, I do drive pretty fast (...just keeping up with traffic flow, officer) but I do not own a gun, army fatigues nor am I stocking my basement with canned goods.

In summary, caps and punctuation or lack thereof don't mean anything--I was just picking on some guy that (at the time) screwed me on a trade.

You guys are great. :thumb:
