as a trader, not a seller I feel EBAY is a stepping stone on what's "out there" for trade or sell.if some goof what's to anty up 100 bucks for "the unrealeased",that's his or her problem.everything's out there on the net,it's just a matter of doing your research. ;) case in point I took my wife to go see journey last summer and it was a great concert.I had a copy of the show from that tour on vhs and cd within 3 weeks.some people get pissed that others sell the shows, but people will buy ANYTHING if they don't know were to look.selling in MHO is crap,It's what gives "bootlegs" :sssh: a bad name.

I'm totally against the sale of bootlegs, but the eBay page he pointed out was general VH merchandise. If Scaryman would have wanted to show where people were peddling boots, he should've pointed out the specific URLs for all of us to see, that's all. ;)

okay I'm a little confused. Before I start please don't flame me, I'm asking questions here, because to me there seems to be a conflict. I did not go to Ebay--but just read what was written. First I must say that I find it very amusing that anyone would bid on a CD-r. But I have seen on the VH Trading site on more then one occasion top traders clamering for a "factory silver top boot cd". Anyway that you want to slice it---its a bootleg and I personally don't know anyone that TRADES professional type silver top boots. They most be bought and then duplicated and traded. As far as vinyl goes it seems to be okay to buy those because they're considered a "limited run edition" as I was once told. ITS STILL A BOOTLEG...and yes I do BUY vinyl boots if I see them and I don't own them. Yes I fully agree trading is much better and I thank everyone that has traded with me. If a person is trying to collect all the CD Boots that are professionally created aka silver tops--more power to you and good luck, its a long and expensive road. If you are collecting shows but don't care about the media that its on--then you should probably trade.I am a collector of VH audio. But I find that CD-r's are just as good as Silver tops. But remember all this starts from an illegal source called bootlegging in whatever form.........I'll shut my trap now

Boots are boots, anyway you slice it. Although vinyl and silver CDs are virtually unduplicatible in their format (and therefore considered "collector's items"), you can still trade for them if you have something the owner doesn't.

I'll tell you what really chaps my wienie about boots.

I hate getting a 2-CD set, either via trade or buying, like I did when I was in Japan, and finding that Disc 2 will have anywhere from 3-5 songs on it, while Disc 1 will have 3/4 of the damn show! After adding up the toal times for both discs, I'll find that the person (or persons) that created that disc, could've put the entire show on one disc, and the only reason they put it on 2 discs was to get extra cash off of the consumer.

Man, that steams me!!! :furious:

Yo know what I do is I go search for Vh boots on ebay then e-mail the highest bidder and ask him if he wants to download them for free. I tell them about vhtrading, and vhvault.com.

I offer to get them started, but the ball is in there court.
