Well... check out www.vhnd.com for the full (although short) story, but apparently Mike has spoken out. He hasn't spoken to the brothers in over a year and apparently the bros. weren't happy at all with him doing a tour with Dave and Sammy.

Oh well... it only confirms things going to the worst.

But personally, if the VH boys don't like it, too f*cking bad. They can get up (no pun intended) and pick up the phone. In reality, I bet there's nothing more than pride and egos from stopping any kind of reunion tour with anyone. Sh*t! I'll take a reunion with Gary!

It was my impression that Mike got a bit bored with sitting around not doing anything for years, so he went out to do what makes him happy (and used to make the VH bros. happy, too) by playing an instrument in front of an audience. That IS his career choice afterall. It's like getting mad at an ex-girlfriend for dating someone else after you haven't even spoken to her in a year. :confused: WTF???

I'd hate to see Mona get the axe (so to speak), but I love the energy between Sam and Mike. And if Mike can't pull Sam back in VH (if it exists anymore) then I'd rather see Mike become a Waborita.

If Ed and Al aren't thrilled about Mikey playing with Sammy or Dave there is a simple solution . . . TOUR YOURSELF ! If the brothers made amends with Sammy or Dave or Gary or ANYONE and then got out on the road with Mike then Mike couldn't play with Sammy because he would be playing the the band. Wow ! What a novel solution. Not that I'm expecting much to come of it.

I just think Mike just wants to play and since there is nothing going on with VH he is playing his azz off.. He even joined The Atomic Punks here in Los Angeles for a few songs...Keep playing Mike and if the VH Boyz don't like it shut up and play!!!

Well,I know that this might not be the popular opinion but I can truly see why Ed and Al are pissed off at Mike.First,I went to see the Sam and Dave tour and was suprised at the amount of Van Halen Both guys played.Especially Sam.The guy talks so much about how great his new band is then half of his set is Van Halen.I couldn't help but think about how Dave and Sam were making money off of Ed's music.So now Mike wants to join the party???What was he thinking????By doing this he is doing his best to Make Ed and Al look like the bad guys.Mike went along with the decisions to fire Dave and Sam.He could have quit if he wasn't happy.But now because Van Halen is between record deals and Ed is going through a divorce, Mike's gonna go play with his buddy Sam.I can hardly wait for the day that Ed and Al continue Van Halen.

Making money off Ed's music ? I guess you are saying that Sammy had NO input on 5150, OU812, Carnal Knowledge or Balance. I guess you are also saying Dave had NO input on any album he sang on. If I am not mistaken the credits are equally across four band members on each album with the difference being the singer. Sammy or Dave or Gary for that matter have every right to sing songs they recorded.

I believe the bottomline is that Mike wants to work and Ed and Al are not giving him any work so he went out and found some. Would Ed and Al be upset if instead of Sammy or Dave, Mike played with Pearl Jam for a night. What if Mike joined Bon Jovi for a night ? He wants to play so what, let him play. Of course if Mike was playing with Van Halen he wouldn't be able to play with anyone else.

Totally offtopic but I think it was very cool of Sammy to have Gary sing When It's Love at one of his shows (at least I think it was When it's Love). I'm beginning to think Sammy is the coolest guy.

What I said is true.Edward Van Halen Writes all of Van Halen's Music.Sammy would have to buy an instruction manual to learn how to play the stuff on guitar. Now lyrics are another story.Either way,Van Halen will continue.Mark my words

Actually, Ed writes pieces of music. Sam helped him piece them together and suggest bridges and chords and such. I've read more than once that Dave and Sam helped to arrange the songs. Sam might not be the "shredder" that Ed is, but he could easily play most of the verse/bridge parts written in his era; I can.
Sam and Dave have every legal right to play whatever songs from their era; they do, afterall, own the rights. They still make money off of them from royalties.

Comparing Sam or yourself to Ed on guitar is just sick.I'd love to hear a tape of you "ripping through" A.F.U. or AMSTERDAM.Bet it sounds just like him!!Look,Ed isn't just the "guitar player" in Van Halen.Sammy's solo work proves that.All WEAK!!!!! "Mas Tequila" Do you really like that stuff???OH well it's just an opinion and I'm glad that there are other people that feel so strongly about the subject.I just miss Van Halen.

Hey guys! Leave the dirt slinging somewhere else. But that actually is a good idea... is there anyone that records themselves? If so, we should post some of the clips just for kicks. I'd love to hear some of you other guys, good or bad. You know, this is a VH Trading forum, but provided Scott allows it, I think the normal users of this forum could make it much much more than it is now. (I'm saying I feel potential in the users on here... most users on other boards have their heads you know where).

Any takers?
