Does anyone know of good DVD RIP software out there that I can get for my G4 PowerBook Laptop. Basically what I want to do is copy my dvd-r bootlegs to my hard drive then burn copys of it back to my dvd super drive. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Get a program called DVD Decrypter (freeware).
Use it to create an ISO file (disk image) on your harddrive, and then use it to burn a playable disk from the ISO file.
The reason I recommend this program: there are many different programs used for authoring disks, and there are many programs used for burning them.
Occasionally, there are incompatibilities between these various programs. It may result in a useless disk, or it may result in a disk that'll only play on certain DVD players.
The rule of thumb is that it's always best to burn copies using the program used to author the original DVD. Obviously, this isn't practical, and many times, you don't even know what program was used in the first place. With DVD Decrypter, you get around all of those issues because you're making an image of the disk and burning an identical copy.
Here's a link to a good guide for using DVD Decrypter to create an ISO file and use it to burn a playable DVD: http://www.geocities.com/zeppester/ISO

Randy The OP mentioned "G4 PowerBook Laptop", which is a Mac. DVD Decrypter is a windows application.
Some info on Mac ripping can be found here:

Yeah sorry, it is a Apple Mac Powerbook. I do not need to to make back up copies that have copy guard. All I am copying is dvd-r's without copy guard. I can load it into my g4 through my firewire input and burn it through my dvd studio pro 2 software. But all I want to do is clone the dvd NOT author it with menu's and chapters. Just quick copies is all I am looking for. I am new to burning with a computer so I may be making this harder than it actually is, but any and all info is a help. So thank you in advance.
