Hi, I was wondering (since I'm just starting out) is there software out there that someone can recommend that lets you remove the 2 second gap found on some bootleg copies??

Also, I have .wav files that I want to put all on one disc without the gaps inbetween. Is there software for that too? Maybe the software can be used for both examples.

A newbie thanks you in advance!

I use CeQuadrat WinOnCD5 Power Edition CD Burning software...Bought a new Dell a few months ago and the software they had installed couldn't edit for shit. Picked this up for $20, works great...takes a little time to figure out but there are many options..frequency analysis, 10 channel graphic eq, effects, noise filter, etc.

I record shows and have edited out with some success using this software.

There are many posts on this subject if you do a search...good luck.

fairly manual but often manual is the best way to go

By the way use EAC for digital extraction and ONLY EAC.

If your looking to blow some $$$ you can't beat Soundforge IMO. EAC and CDWave are also good programs to do it with.

For me it's a manual process to go in, take out the gaps and re-track the disc, but I use Cool Edit Pro for the task. Rip with Secure EAC, edit with Cool Edit Pro and adjust the track markers in the cue sheet in any simple text editor such as Notepad.

Why so many traders can't figure out DAO is completely beyond me!

http://www.geocities.com/frankmhere/file/twosec.htm DID WE MENTION TO USE EAC ONLY FOR RIPPING THE AUDIO ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Sorry, but its the God's honest truth. Take time to learn EAC (Exact Audio Copy), and learn how to properly make a rip.

EAC once again my friend. I know some swear by CDWave (I think for cue sheet creation) personally I've used the Process WAV feature in EAC and it has allowed me to setup cue sheets based on the sectors so there are no annoying clicks. And EAC burns via cue sheets. It's also freeware !

Another way is to highlight the seperate sections and drag and drop them into seperate files, either way works, the cut feature is a bit quicker.

If you don't have it, they make an awesome manual if you need it.

SoundForge is a great program, but it is a bit complex at times.

To tell the truth, now all I use for anything anymore is Soundforge. I've never used Cool Edit Pro, heard some really good things about it, but I'm just a SF guy. Kinda like the way I swear Dodge kicks Ford and Chevy's a$$ :thumb:
