| Ive never had problems with Fuji, Imations and TDK. In the generic side I have used Princo. Go to www.dvdrhelp.com and do a search of media people recommend for the type of burner. |

Ory's dead on about checking your burner at that site. I've used TDK, Maxell, Fuji Mitsui, and Taiyo-Yudens with no trouble, but have had problems with Sony and Memorex. On the cheap side, I've used Princos with no trouble.
Check that site for your burner. I found out my best options through that, and unfortunately trial and error. |

| I've tried just about every brand i can get my hands on to back up my kids movies(oh those sticky little fingers) and passed them around at work for the boys to try in about 20 different DVD players just to get results. What i have found is that not only the brand of blanks but the kind of burner(replaced my LG burner for a Pioneer for that reason)as well as software can effect the outcome.I've been using Memorex 4x speed with excellent results.I like to use TDK or Maxell for you guys(but will get any brand requested provided we can get it in Canada)because they are excepted in most trades.I also noticed on DVDHELP that Memorex made by GMC & Richo had good resaults but Memorex made by Taiyo-Yudens had mixed results. So my question is when you buy blanks how do you know the actual manufacturers of the disc? Is there a program that will read the disc and tell you who makes it? Also what is console reliability? The other problem here in Canada is you usually don't see the top brand names (Fuji,Sony,Verbatum) for less than $5 a pop.I'm just lucky to get TDK from Costco for $3 each.I'm no expert but these are my findings hope it helps.Happy trading in the new year. :thumb: |
