| I've seen this before, but after scrolling over it again, I noticed something new that I hadn't really ever though about. I had always kind of sided with Sammy when the band split about the greatest hits album. Sammy's argument being the band didn't need a Greatest hits, they could just make a new album. However, in the that interview, Eddie points out at the time Sammy was opposed to VH making a GH album, he already had 2 of them himself ?!?! Just a litle fact I never noticed before. |

Technically, Sammy did not. Capitol and Geffen put them out AFTER Sam had left those labels because they had the rights too. Left up to Sam they wouldn't have come out but he had no say. They only thing he had to do with Unboxed was add the two songs to try to give something to the fans and then he promoted it for two weeks. Geffen would have done it anyway with or without him. Ed shouldn't really throw that in his face. All of VH was against it until Mr. Daniels wanted to do it and talked Ed and Al into it for the money!
I still think both parties were to blame but more of the blame shifts to Ed's side. |

| How could one man bring down the Mighty Van Halen? That sucks!! Someone should have Kicked his ass out, early on. From the way Sam describes Ray Daniels, He sounds like a real piece of work. :sus: |

Every interview with Ed that's ever been published features Ed bitching about how somebody is screwing him.
Ever notice that?
It's never Ed's fault, it's everyone else who fucks it up. It's as if the world is against him and always screwing up his plans.
Just because he gave up the bottle doesn't mean he's cured of what made him drink in the first place.
That's why all this talk of Sam coming back into the picture doesnt' leave optimistic. We'll see if Ed's been healed, because a year ago Dave was saying that the Ed was "in a dark place" and that the only way VH would happen again, with him or Sam, is if there was an "intervention".
We'll see.... |
